;D I had a football game on Friday to watch the team that I follow and a special kid whose day died when I was at Desert Storm in 1991 and he was two years old. His dad was 29 and died from a blood clot from a badly sprain ankle. Long story.
So after the game which was away I went home and it was really late and the next morning my wife and the grand baby went to the farm where the great grandmother lives and where there are a strain of huge bucks in Saline County, MO. I want to be there at first light, but that just does not work with babies.
So I only got to hunt the evening in one of my favorite stands and this was the first day in. So I was really excited and I knew that Does hang out in this area. But it is getting to the Witching Hour the last of the day, then the last 30 minutes is finally coming to an end, and I hear a some leaves crunching, and look to the left and up the hill comes a super 150+ 8 pt. and at least 10" brow tines. He is trotting so I use my voice to bleat him and he stops at 25 yrs. but there are three trees blocking him, so I really only have a risky shot, so I let him walk. He was a dandy, and then right behind him comes another nice buck, 120 class and messed up rack, no typical so I love to eat deer meat, so I
stop him perfectly broad side and focus on my peep sight and it is really tough getting light, so I finally get him lined up and double lungs him and he runs down into the thick woods. I find him and he is nice and now my hunt is over until Gun for the big buck. But I will guide some of my friends and see if they can kill him with a bow. The young man I mentioned earlier I guide his day to kill a big buck many years ago and it is mounted in the young mans home, with his buck that I videoed over the shoulder, and it is super video, and the buck is a 120 class, but for a first deer and video, is super. steady
