The website says the donor pays for processing. OK,Do I Read this right, I donate 4 deer but have to pay $350.00 or more for the processing fees.sounds like not a bad deal for the processors. Do not get me wrong I am all for feeding the hungry, but that price to donate to me is pretty steep.
According to several donating stations on the list they charge on the average 0f $80.00 TO $90.00 to process a deer.

I believe hunters for the hungry and the link that Decatur provided are ones you have to pay processing. FHFH (Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry) is one that has fundraisers year round to pay processors. If there's a butcher near you that is in that program all you have to do is drop off your deer and tell them it is for the FHFH program. Go to www.fhfh.org and type in your county to see if there's a butcher close by.

I don't remember the thread title , but there was a fairly recent thread about an org that will accept field dressed carcasses for free , you just drop them at a designated processor . The org was something like Farmers and Hunters Helping the Hungry , does anyone remember for sure ? I've been in contact with them , and the Kentuckiana rep wrote me back to say that she'll give me a location for the nearest one to me soon . If someone could find the thread you can contact them about finding a processor near you .
