Full moon......I would suggest some Melatonin.....you can buy it at Wally world, inexpensive. Solo I can hardly believe that oral melatonin would even begin to work better than a placebo for this, but I don't know. The prescription non-narcotic sleep medications (Ambien and what have you) are not the greatest choices either. The best choice is good sleep hygiene (if you don't know what I mean, Google it)--and if that doesn't work, talk with your doctor, because other physical or psychiatric symptoms that need to be dealt with could affect sleep.

I'm afraid I'll taint the results. Working 3rd for five years has really screwed up my sleep. I would say it is worse lately.

As long as I can go to bed and shut off my brain I'm fine. It's the one night out of 4 or 5 that I go to bed and then start thinking when I have trouble falling asleep. Especially this time of year when we are busy as all h*** at work, and this year in particular since part of my job is scheduling the jobs.... Once I'm asleep though, the only reason I get up in the middle of the night is if the 10 month old is hungry and wanting a bottle!

Actually, melatonin works very well. I have used it before. As does tylenol PM. You see, I myself have severe sleep apnea, and require a bipap device set almost as high as it will go to sleep well in the first place. But this is different. This thread was started because I and almost everyone I have mentioned it to have been having ABNORMAL sleeping problems the enire last month or two. And I was curious to see how widespread the problem was, and what ideas were out there to explain it.
Must be DST, so lets just go back to living the 'ignorant' life without it. Like we have done quite well for most of my life. :-)
