How many of you bow hunters wear glasses? Due to too many birthdays, I am now wearing bi-focals most of the time now, and looks like I will be wearing them to hunt this fall.
No problem shooting the bow, but what is the trick to using binoculars with glasses? Put them up to your glasses lens and you only get a partial field of view. Any ideas?
I really started notice it last year, when I would put the binos down, it took an unusually long time for my eyes to focus back on things up close. The optometrist said, no big deal, at 46 the eyes are starting to wear down, and it's time for glasses. Wonder how many deer got by me the last couple years due to not spotting them?

A teacher I work with in the summer had lasik this summer. As soon as the Dr was done he said I have never seen this well in my life. It was 3600. He had it done on a Friday and was playing tennis on Sat. I am going to talk to the Dr the first of December.

Find a set of binocs with the fold down rubber eye cups. I just did that to correct the same problem. Found a cheaper set of Bushnell's for the truck (10x32) with them and they are the berries with my glasses still on.
Parrothead, I had a friend get lasik and I asked him if he thought it was worth it. He said something like " I would have paid twice that."

I will let horn havrvester tell. It was all lazer no cutting. After he was done he could read the bottom line on the eye chart. He said he wakes up in the morning opens his eyes and he can see.

What exactly does lasik surgery do? its a laser procedure to correct your vision. takes about 30 seconds on each eye. you cant see real good the first day but from the next on its great. i got mine on a special for 499.00 each eye. usually the price varies by how much they have to correct your vision. the only draw back is dry eye in the winter. i use drops a couple times a day. with the new laser machines they don't have to cut your cornea so dry eye isn't a problem. i ended up with 20/15 vision in each eye.

I can't wear contacts, and the cost of lasik is out of the question. Stuck with glasses & I can't focus properly using binos either. I know it is a safety no-no, but I usually just use my scope.

The guy I know went to the Pankratz eye Inst. In Columbus. It was 3,600 and they will even let you finance it over a year. It took him 8 minutes per eye. There was not redness or pain during or after. You have drops to put in for 2 weeks I think and you cant get water in your eyes or touch them for 2 weeks.

they give you a pair of eye guards that you wear for a couple of weeks so you dont rub you eyes while sleeping. it is a painless procedure. i did mine at the Laser Vision Center. They were running the special.
Its great not to wear glasses after wearing them for 35 years. A funny thing is a few days after the surgery I caught myself several times pushing up my glasses out of habit but i wasn't wearing glasses. I would recommend it to anyone that is thinking about having lasik. h.h.

I use my fingers to keep the binos from hitting on my glasses. I wear no line bi focals and have not had any real problems with full vision but you do have to use the adjustment on the binos to get them them best you can. There are some inexpensive binos that will not adjust for clear vision. I have the best luck with the mid priced ones. 10 x 40 works okay, 8 x 40 works good for me too.

I usually just take my glasses off, then adjust the focus on the binocs to compensate for my vision........it stinks to remove the glasses, but it's what I have to do.
