Been a rough weekend with all the rain. Finally caught a break yesterday and got on some. Caught 4. Ended up neck deep in flood waters. Stuck and drowned 4 wheelers. Couple of dogs banged up. But in the end it all worked out. 2 nice sows 1 boar about 140 lbs and this big toothy dude.

I'm going tomorrow unless it's pouring. It's going to be a mess but the hogs should be up on the high ground. I'll let y'all know how it goes.

It looks like it's wet up y'alls way too. It's so rainy here they cancelled school. Haven't been able to hunt last couple of days. Maybe it will give us a break.

No my buddies caught one few years ago that weighed 504 lbs. Somehow they got it stuffed in a wagon like That. That hog weighs 200 maybe 220 so you can imagine what 500 lbs would look like.

I'd be in for a 3 or 4 day weekend trip. I don't really care to stab one, but I think it would be a lot of fun to run along and watch. A lot of the guys we have come down just want to hang out and watch. Some like to get involved to different degrees. Main thing with us is to be safe and have a good time. We have kids and wives along sometimes. It's all about spending time together and having fun. Coolers full of hog meat is just a bonus. You know what they say bad day of hunting beats a good day at work.

Seen several videos of it done with knife, not really my thing. Love to catch some though. Ones I've seen they had big ol American bulldog, one on each side. Guy came up and grabbed both back of hogs legs then guy came in and stuck it. Once they did that, that pig wasn't going anywhere. I've shot several bayed up with plotts with a bow. Seemed a lot more dangerous than the knife. Maybe I'm wrong. I would love to come down and catch some with you all sometime though. Love seeing some good dog work Yeah it's fun to grab one throw it and hog tie it. But watching the dogs work is what I really love. Seeing a dog do what it was bred to do is cool. Those dogs love it more than we do. I've never done it but I imagine when you shoot one that is Bayed and it breaks it could get pretty dicey. I do know that sometimes it takes a lot to bring a hog down. It's a bunch of guys and a bunch of dogs. You don't have to sit still quiet or worry about your scent. You just sit back and let the dogs do there thing. When they bay up go to them and turn the bulldog loose.

Don't get me wrong there is still a good adrenaline rush but when that hog is wearing a couple of 70 pound bulldog ear rings he has a lot on his mind and you aren't usually high up on the list. Ha

So when do we get a hunting Indiana team formed to head to Texas and kill some hogs? You do know he ain't shooting them in front of the dogs, right? That'll change some minds REAL quick on who wants to go. Yeah we catch them by hand. Then load them in wagons or stab them. No guns around dogs except for my buddy who only uses it in extreme circumstances. It's a trill. Probably can get some stand hunting together might be able to get some thermal hunting together. Just have to talk to some friends and see. I personally have never shot a hog in the wild. I catch them with dogs

Amen. It's time to start calling em as you see em. Back before everyone was special a wack job would get a tune up that quite often taught them the way they were expected to act. And if it didn't they got another tune up. Ha. Some kid hits one of mine with a bat cops be putting me in jail. And you think that will FIX anything! SMH Yeah if you know that there are repercussions for acting a fool then you stop. If you don't then it will become very apparent to those around that you have serious issues and need to be locked up. Instead we let these wack jobs mingle with our kids.

This says the Resource Officer was not on duty that day.. No back up officer? Really? www.sun-sentinel.com/local/broward/parkland/florida-school-shooting/fl-florida-school-shooting-20180215-story.htmlI'm a believer in allowing trained personnel on site to carry in school. Can there be "friendly fire"? Yes, but the alternative of just allowing the shooter to just keep on shooting is not good. Teacher(s) and others with guns will direct the shooters attention away from shooting the kids. Just shooters knowing that there IS an armed resistance just might make them think twice about shooting up a school. There is a reason that these mass shootings take place in the so called "gun free zones". I've looked that up too and according to multiple sources I've seen, they all say that....Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel stated an armed officer was on duty at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Which is right? I don't know. As far as allowing trained personnel on campus to carry. If they are ex-military or retired police with the proper training, then yes I would agree that is a good idea. I still contend that arming the Principal or a teacher without a serious amount of training in those type of scenarios is just a bad idea waiting to happen. As far as there being armed resistance on campus being a deterrent, how many places with shootings have had SROs or private security on duty and it still happened? Unfortunately, I think that if a person is h*ll bent on doing something crazy like this it's virtually impossible to stop. One armed officer in a school with 3500 students. That's 6 times bigger than the town I live in and we have a lot more law enforcement than that

Whenever these shootings happen, the gun debate stirs up again, but nobody ever wants to talk about the elephant in the room, that being the fact that we won't call a nut a nut anymore. We are now hearing about the shooter having "emotional problems." In my experience that label has been slapped on kids that can't control their anger. This is going to a lot of people off, but I don't care. If these problem kids cause more than one or two issues they need to be out and away from regular kids. Let me give you two examples of what I'm talking about involving my son. 1. Years ago John was in a summer baseball league. This one kid we'll call "Bob" on the team had "emotional problems." In the outfield he would be literally climbing on my son, grabbing him, messing with his hat, etc. Coaches did nothing. The last game is going on, and I hear "We need John's dad!" I run to the dugout, and there is my son, bleeding from the head. The on-scene adult was limp as a dishrag, so I asked, "Kids, what happened??" They looked at me and replied, "Bob hit John with a bat!" This kid, like seven at the time, had took a purposeful swing at another kid with a bat. He of course has the same types of problems elsewhere, has changed schools twice, at one time ending up in class with my son. I told the teacher that I believed this kid is dangerous. I will not be a bit surprised if he eventually kills. Why is this obvious nut still in with other kids? 2. Last year John had a couple of classes with a different problem child. This kid would shout during class nearly every day. When corrected he would throw tantrums, even to the point of rolling on the floor and screaming. Other than being in the same class, John really didn't have much interaction with him. I just told him, "Be nice to the kid." One day I get a call. "Sir, your son was hit over the head by another student with a laptop but he seems to be fine." Guess who the culprit was? Mr. Tantrum more or less did it for the hell of it--that was the official explanation. He's still in school, after doing what would put an adult in jail. Both these kids are in with all the others, disrupting the learning environment, in some cases actually hurting kids. Other kids like them--some showing less signs-- end up shooting. They are only free to mess up life for everybody else because we as a society are too weak to say "Sorry parents, you're kid is disturbed and needs to be separated from other students." We give them a pill and maintain that they are better off at home than in a special facility. BullS***! We don't have to give up on them, but we don't have to force everyone else to endure their troubled behavior either. Segregation needs to return to schools-- not for color, but for behavior. Same thing with adults. If you do or say nutty things that can reasonably be interpreted as dangerous, you need to go stay with the nuts. Certain restrictions on freedom of speech are reasonable, and I think even joking about shooting up a school should get you into serious trouble. There are more than enough due process protections to make setting some hard rules perfectly workable. Amen. It's time to start calling em as you see em. Back before everyone was special a wack job would get a tune up that quite often taught them the way they were expected to act. And if it didn't they got another tune up. Ha. Some kid hits one of mine with a bat cops be putting me in jail.
