I look up the land on public records so you can see who owns it the exact acres and the assetsed value. A lot good info on public enternet sites on who own what land and the acres owned. Another thing the less people you tell you are looking at so and so property the better off your be of buying/getting it.... loose lips skinks many a ship! Your absolutely right. I seen this at the Indianapolis War Memorial today.

Congrats again and thanks for sharing the scores with us. You guys forgot the Best magazine ever! This buck should definitely be the centerfold in the April issue of Playdoe. 😉

I was out doing some scouting today before the snow melted and found what looks like blood in urine. Could this be from a second or third estrus if she wasn’t breed earlier?.

I haven’t been able to keep up with the live from the stand since I haven’t been getting service out in the hollers of the public land I hunt. After hunting every weekend of bow season and seeing at least one to two deer per sit, the right deer just didn’t come my direction. Opening Day: I decided to save a few of my favorite spots and a couple of doe Bedding areas for the firearm season. Yesterday was one long sit, up a tree in a climber one hour before sunrise. I only seen one spike buck cruise by the bedding area that I was sitting next to. As the sun started to set the distatant booms were not as often as they were in the early morning, but my count ended at 130ish. Opening Day : I sat in what I call my micro food plot stand aka Turtle Stand. For two seasons I have been trying to get something to grow as a quick snack destination for the deer. The deer just won’t stay out of it long enough for the plot to grow and be ready for early archery. (If anyone has any ideas on how to keep the deer out of it until it’s archery season please let me know). Ohhh, so there I was sitting in the Turtle Stand for the first time this year a good 20 minutes before shooting light. I had a deer skrt skrt 30 yards from the stand before light. The wind was just right at sunrise, ya know like the first time in a long time it was dead calm. There was so many squirrels and chipmunks running around I had a hard time staying focused on watching the thickets for a deer to emerge. I started thinking 🤔 since I have never mounted a deer before what if I took that money and spent it on mounting squirrels? How many squirrels would that equal? Wow, maybe I have been sleep depriving myself and spending way to much time in the woods.....All of a sudden a buck comes out of the thicket on a mission crossing the crest of the finger ridge I was sitting on. With only a quick look thru the scope I decided now is the time so I let the smoke pole bark 💥 boom! The buck maintained its course and disappeared out of site. While gathering myself and getting ready to go look for blood my buddy texted me and said that’s shoot 💯for this morning was that you? Y, Yes it was 😀 I responded. The buck went 25 yards to his resting spot, to my suprise he was a 10 pointer. I couldn’t be happier with how my efforts for the last year have paid off. Best of luck to everyone that’s still in pursuit...

Congratulations on acquiring a great stand and harvesting the doe. Out of curiosity, Is the stand one of the older LocOn aluminum stands from the early 90’s? It is indeed a Loc-On. Says so right on the "Trebark II" seat cushion. I wish they still sold em. You can assemble the sections, balance it on your shoulders with your head through the rungs, and walk a mile. It's super light for it's size. I Love my LocOn ladder stand. This stand is my late Fathers. I hunted out of it just one season since he passed and harvested a small buck while using it. What made that hunt even more meaningful to me was taking my first archery deer using a bow that he had bought me when I was a teenager. Every sit in it that season was extra special. At the end of that season six years ago I put it up and haven’t hunted out of it since. Your post triggered me to pull it out of the barn and dust it off. It’s time to put it to good use agin this season.
