Nephew is having fun today. He just called and asked if I would smoke one for him. Do you put them in a pipe or do you roll-em.

He was about a hundred yards away from me but too much brush to see him for about an hour. He would answer every call I threw at him but he wouldn’t come any closer. I must have finally talked dirty enough to him he finally came in on a straight shot. Took him at 50yds with the old 10 ga. Now on to Michigan. Now open a "BUD" and enjoy a good pluckin!

I don't know what happened but I just missed a nice one. No more than 35 yards. This scope has to be off. My grandson has been using it. My grandson missed one two years ago but it was 50 yards and it was Grandson. My fault for not taking it to the range this year. Things got in the way, but that is no excuse This bird had a nice bushy beard and a lot of red and some blond looking coloring on him. A beautiful bird. This is the first bird I've missed ...ever. That hurts. Don't worry WOODY you will get over it in about 8-10 years.

One thing they taught us in firearms training is to never RIDE THE SLIDE shut always let it slam shut.

I set up on the downwind side of a huge open field with the wind roaring right in my face. Rain on and off with nothing but ducks geese and sandhill cranes and deer. I gave it up after 2 1/2 hours of punishment.
Only thing I am grateful for is we're not out on the BIG LAKES fishing.
