How about adding as bonus points in the deer contest 5 points for a gun kill 10 points for a bow/crossbow kill
Just an idea Bob

You know if they would allow Xbow entries they could have another source of income.

Been using Slick Tricks off and on for 3-4 years now It is the only broadhead I have used that I can say I have never lost an animal with deer or turkey.

I generally wear some version of Rocky boot. Snake boots for warm weather and CornStalkers with 1000 g thinsulate for cold. I keep them in plastic bags with earth wafers when not in use and spray the bottoms with Acorn scent sometimes. I have had deer track me to the ladder on occasion with this method. I have also have watched does cross my trail with no effect.

I took my mount up Friday morning to be in the display. I tooke the family up for most of the day Saturday got there about 11 and the girls watched the dog shows. The crowd int the deer and turkey expo was nuts thru midday so we roamed the boats and RVs which wasn't too crowded. Tackle town was also crowded but not as bad as the deer and turkey. We watched the Youth hunting seminar which was pretty good but they need a better area for the seminars, the speakers were competing with the duck and goose calling on one end and the 3D shoot on the other. We then took a break and left for dinner about 5 pm. We went back and found if you really want to look at the deer and turkey booths the time to do it is between 6 and 9 on saturday the crowd was much smaller and you could actually walk down the aisles without bumping into someone. I found the last time I was up if you want to pick up on deals show up late sunday most dealers will cut a deal to keep from loading product back on the truck. I got there too late this year and there were all loaded up.

I have been using the Encore for several years now I believe I bought mine in 95 or 96 and have never had any problems with it No misfires no broken parts. It shot well enough for deer hunting here in Indiana and probably would have shot better if I really sat down and work with different charges and bullets. I was getting 3 to 4 inch groups with a 3-9X scope set on 3. Good enough to deer hunt. That said just because I like tinkering with thing to see what they can do I sent the frame in to a custom shop to smooth the trigger up and set to 3#. Also in an effort to reduce weight I sent the barrel to another smith and had it shortened to 18 1/4 inches with a tapered crown. Removing 8" from the barrel cut the weight by 1#. With these mods I can now get 3/4" groups if I really pay attention to what I am doing and generally get 1 1/2" to 2" most of the time. Bottom line I can't complain it is a great gun and see no reason to change, I probably would have been fine with stock but after a while I have to start tinkering.
By the way I also have the 209X50 Encore pistol and am thinking about tinkering with it too.
