Can i hunt geese at the same time that i'm hunting doves while using Steel shot ? I know i can't hunt waterfowl over a mowed down sunflower field , but can i hunt waterfowl in a field or pond near that sunflower patch ?

Deadeer , we will be primitive camping . I always thought about cabin camping at campgrounds with cabins though . I really need to buy a small to med size boat for multi purposes , fishing / waterfowl hunting . I just read that there is boat rental there , Now i'm really pumped up on fishing there .

I was givin this post a few years back and i thought that i would share this with you .
One day, a man went to visit a church..
He got there early, parked his car, and got out.
Another car pulled up and the driver got out and said,"I always park there! You took my place!"
The visitor went inside for Sunday School, found an empty seat and sat down.
A young lady from the church approached him and stated, "That's my seat! You took my place!"
The visitor was somewhat distressed by this rude welcome, but said nothing.
After Sunday School, the visitor went into the sanctuary and sat down.
Another member walked up to him and said, "That's where I always sit! You took my place!"
The visitor was even more troubled by this treatment, but still He said nothing.
Later as the congregation was praying for Christ to dwell among them, the visitor stood up, and his appearance began to change. Horrible scars became visible on his hands and on his sandaled feet.
Someone from the congregation noticed him and called out, "What happened to you?"
The visitor replied, as his hat became a crown of thorns, and a tear fell from his eye, "I took your place."
Maybe, just maybe, we can get the world to start thinking of Who took our place.

I'm not looking for a tame elk to shoot and eat , I'm looking for something different then the everyday cow meat or pork meat . The bison farm is only 20 min from my house which sells bison meat . But the steaks are in the one pound range . I can ask if they have bigger cuts of Bison meat or turn to the cow steaks and pork ribs to grill .

I just bought a grill / smoker ( char-broil grill ) and i want to break it in the right way , so i was thinking on bison steaks from the bison farm in hobart IND. . Then i thought heey why not elk meat on line . I know it will be farm raised , so my question is what do you think about about buying game meat on line .

I feel if there is a spring squirrel season it should be up to the state parks or other Government land if they want to participate . the season is almost 5 months already , I don't feel it should be any longer then that . maybe instead of a spring season why not raise the bag and or possession limit to the season we already have now . ( that was just mentioned , i posted this before reading the responces )

I believe a great portion of the decline in ruffled grouse numbers is loss of habitat , the surrounding area where i hunt at use to be farm land has now been turned into a sub division , infact there use to be a second hunting preserve about a mile from the club where i go to , that is now a sub division , but the club owner where i hunt use to have wild quail , grouse , pheasant and other animals . now you only see deer , squirrel once in a while , a flock or so of geese , some ducks , very little doves in the area .

Hello from Hobart In. for the most part i'm a self taught hunter . My father hunted a little as our family grew up , but quit hunting in the early 1980's then i started hunting in the late 80's and the rest as they say is history . i started hunting pigeons and doves then upgraded to squirrels , pheasants and rabbits . dabbled in waterfowl , deer , turkey . I had a few hunting partners but they moved on and for the most part quit hunting . my sister joins me from time to time , but mainly i hunt alone now .

I think it would be cool , but will it act like a wolly mammoth or would it act like a modern elephant ? I wish they could clone the passanger pigeon .

about a week a go i read that story and watched the video , I understand that having to many predators is not a good thing and at the same time not having a predator can be a bad thing . the farm i hunt in Illinois is a great example for me to tell , I'm the only hunter on a 275 acre piece of land back in the late 80's to early 90's i would kick up maybe 8 pheasants on the property but then the coyotes came in and on that same piece of land now i will only kick up 1 rooster the whole season . that was the bad thing about too many predators in that area , i still haven't found the good side yet , unless you want to call the mouse population in that area is down a good thing .

the moose gave 2 warning stay away from me charges and attacked the snow mobiler , i say it was the snow mobilers fault for NOT listening to the warnings of the mooses bluff charges . then the driver was forced to use deadly force to save themself . I feel that the driver wanted a confrontation with the moose .
