Please add 1 more Squirrel for Team #5. I saw five other Grays, but unable to get shots at them. My woods has very heavy foliage this year. Good mast crop though and they are currently cutting on Butternut Hickories. Maybe next outing I'll be able to bag more than one or two Squirrels. These Gray Squirrels are really tough to get with a .22 LR even using a scoped rifle. Yep sometimes I feel like a contortionist when I'm trying find a hole in the foliage for a shot.

Second day in a row. Totally blanked! Funny how it goes...rock in' the words one day and like a vaccuvator came through the next few days! Then as I'm riding home on my LT (motorcycle), BAM! I gave Mr. Red an eternal headache! And NO...I got no pic. And NO he won't count! The first three days I went they were all on hickory but the last time most were cutting on oak.

Too much emphasis on size shoot whatever you are happy with. Life is too short to worry about what others think.

I would have shot it down as well. Flying over is one thing but stopping and taking a look around with a camera was taking it way too far. What they didn't expect was for someone to actually stand up and protect their rights.

Because it's just not that simple .... Really not sure if some here understands how the different braches of the Miltary works!!! You are right. It is common sense so the government will never be able to figure it out.

Why are you opposed to those who defend our freedom having the tools to do so?

Seems like there should be a middle ground. Letting all military people carry all the time? There are good reasons that is not done - soldiers are not police nor should they be. Not to mention that young soldiers sometimes drink, carouse and fight. Also the military has had issues with gangs and other criminals at times. How about having the recruiting centers in the local Guard armories? The armories should have full-time armed security like regular bases anyway IMO. I always wondered about consolidating facilities also. Here in Terre Haute we have an Air Guard base, an Army Guard facility, an Army Reserve center and a Marine Reserve center and a Navy reserve office, all spread out all over town, plus the recruiting offices downtown. How about consolidating them into one and having heavy dedicated security? My nephew is a crewman on C-7 and C-130 transports, and whenever they fly to the Middle East all crewmen are required to wear a sidearm, but they only get one magazine. I hope this incident is not the start of a real terror campaign, but I fear it might be. The scary part to me is that this guy was a seemingly ordinary guy, well-liked and no signs of trouble. Lot's of friends etc. - we as he a sleeper, and how many more might there be? I think I will be more diligent about carrying now. I tend to get complacent and go naked too much. How many of you guys carry all the time? To be clear I am saying they should be carrying while on duty. The things you are saying young soldiers do are true but not while on duty, young civilians do the same things and we trust them to carry a gun. What a soldier does in their free time is up to them but they should be armed while on duty.

The military has trained law enforcement officers they are armed and in my opinion they need to be responsible for the protection of their properties. I am not in favor of allowing all military personnel carrying weapons. Why wouldn't you want our trained warriors to be armed? Maybe a better question would be why would any warrior not want to be armed.

It has always bothered me that our armed forces are not armed. I believe they should all carry a sidearm at all times not just certain one's all of them should.

Longbow for me. I hunted with a compound for many years but I love the simplicity of "traditonal" archery. I made the switch a few years ago and never looked back.

When I'm on here my phone regulary goes to a game app site. It is not a popup it goes to the site without me clicking on anything and it only happens on this site. Anyone else experience this? It happened approximately 6 times while trying to post this.

Maybe off topic a bit... I don't know these guys situation or the lake they were fishing but I think alot of lakes need to be managed a little better or on more of a local level. I'm a bass fisherman and throw back 99% of the fish I catch but I do love eating them occasionally. My example is this- I live very close to scales lake in Boonville and it is full of small bass. This is where id go any given day and keep a mess because they had a 12-15 slot and I ate a ton of those under fish. That's just the lake, it doesn't grow many keepers. Last year they proposed changing it to state wide 14", I voiced my opinion and it went through anyways. They've now lost the money from the annual pass and boat launch permits every year because I don't have a reason to fish there much now. Sure if I was starving I could pull a keeper or 2 out of there but I would never keep one of the few that had the genetics/health to actually reach that size. That to me is bad management...kinda like a point restriction on deer and all the 1.5yo 8pt getting shot while the spikes get to live another year. Just venting a bit and showing the other possible side to this story. Sure we have to follow laws regardless but these guys may have really been doing the right thing by keeping the eaters. I'd rather see 12" fish go than a cooler of 3-4lbers. Yep one place I fish for bluegill is full of bass that are 10-12" I have never caught a keeper out of there, statewide requlations don't always work.
