The officers killing the deer was in the performance of their duties so it is not illegal.
IC 14-22-1-2 Applicability of article Sec. 2. The regulatory provisions of this article do not apply to: (1) agents or employees of the department; or (2) police officers of the United States or Indiana; while in performance of official duty. As added by P.L.1-1995, SEC.15.

If someone would have came on here stating they knew an outfitter was violating game laws and it had been reported and nothing was done the very same people that are questioning these arrest would have been questioning why nothing was being done about the complaint. Just because that is all they got charged with doesn't mean that is all the laws they broke and if it is all they got caught doing who knows what else they did not get caught doing. Also a news article is not going to have all the facts but only what a reporter decided to put in the article.

This will be my first year hunting with a recurve. My bow is 49# @ 28, I draw 27" so I am there with ya on the light weight. and welcome to the wonderfully addicting world of trad bowhunting.........aka FRUSTRATING.....my fine Fowlhunting friend. I'm betting, weight wise, with your draw we will be shooting (for me at least one bow) almost exactly the same draw weight. NOW, a lot consider the mid 40s "light" but as I said, it wasnt always considered so. No worries with a decent trad head, none......and their are a BUNCH of those around. God Bless Steve Frustrating for sure. How are those boots holding up?

The limit is 2 birds in KY but you are only allowed 1 per day and your partner claiming one of your birds is also a violation. Also just aiming at one birds head doesn't make it a good shot you need to be sure of what is beyond your intended target.

All of your posts still don't mean the deer was poached. People are too quick to jump to conclusions. I know a road kill tag is needed to be legal, but they are not going to leave it on the deer when they dump it and the head being cut off and back straps removed does not mean it was poached. Was the deer shot? Did it have broken bones?

How do you know it was poached? It could be a legally obtained road kill. Dumping it is illegal but the deer may be perfectly legal.

Lets see there was magic mud, fur auctions, hunt clubs, mature 5 pointer's, the little woman's deer and now "murder" and "to me it's the same as killing a person". You really are a piece of work. If there was any doubt left at all you just wiped it out for sure.

Oh another thing is go to an archery shop and shoot all the different bows to see what feels the best to you and also have them confirm your draw length. A bow that fits you properly is as important as the bow itself. There are so many bows out there and all of the bows produced today will get the job done, so don't get hung up on a brand name but buy a bow you can afford and fits you well.

Another place you might check out is archerytalk.com. I read your other post about just getting into hunting and archerytalk is a good place to learn about archery as well as hunting in general. They also have a classifed section and if you pay attention you can pick up a top of the line bow at a very good price. They have feed back rating for sellers like ebay so if you buy from someone with a good rating it is a good place to buy. I have bought and sold on there and never had a problem. Good luck and I hope to see you post up some hunting stories next season.

I loved snow days when I was kid. A snow day meant money in my pocket. My mom would take me to town and drop me off and I would walk around town all day with a shovel and knock on doors shoveling sidewalks and driveways. I could usually make around $200 a day.

Reduction hunts are just another DNR cash cow. They could care less about herd size in these parks, its all about the $$$. Yeah it's about the money all right, I guess that is why you don't even need a license other than to apply for the hunt. They are really getting rich off these hunts.
