The Da Vinci Delusion, The Answer To The Da Vinci Code, Separates Fact From Fiction
The Da Vinci Code movie opens this weekend.
Dear bob,
A few weeks ago we offered The Da Vinci Delusion DVD to our supporters. The response was tremendous.
The Da Vinci Code movie will be released this weekend. The movie follows the book which has sold 40,000,000 copies worldwide. It is sure to generate tremendous interest.
If you didn't order the DVD earlier, you may want to join the thousands of others who did. The Da Vinci Delusion, produced by my good friend Dr. D. James Kennedy and Coral Ridge Ministries, is a terrific DVD which should be shown in every church. The quality of the 60-minute DVD is top notch. The information it contains will help Christians understand how The Da Vinci Code distorts the life of Christ.
The book and movie make several false claims: That Jesus and Mary Magdalene were man and wife. That the New Testament is false testimony. That there were 80 gospel accounts of Christ’s life. That the Roman emperor Constantine gave us the New Testament. That the divinity of Jesus is an invention of fourth-century church leaders at the Council of Nicea.
While the book and movie claim to be based on fact, they clearly are not. Tragically many people, even Christians, will go away believing that the book and movie are factual.
The Da Vinci Delusion DVD is filled with facts. The all-star lineup of participants serve as fact checkers, pointing out the errors called "facts". Those who watch this DVD will be prepared to intelligently discuss the book and movie with those who have been convinced that The Da Vinci Code is based on fact.
If you did not order The Da Vinci Delusion initially, you may want to do so now. Watch it. You will not be disappointed. Ask your pastor to show it in your church. Share it with your friends. The DVD is available for $25, including shipping.

Sincerely,
Donald E. Wildmon, Founder and Chairman American Family Association
P.S. Please forward this e-mail message to your family and friends!

My pastor is preaching a series of sermons that debunks the Da Vinci code.
The problems arises that a LOT of people believe everything that Hollyweird puts out and they put out some unadulterated garbage.

Chances are, at some point, I'll watch the DaVinci Code. Not for insight, for that there is a perfectly good book, I'll watch the movie because I think Tom Hanks is a heck of an actor.
Looking for insight from a movie that is produced by the Hollywierd crowd is like fishing in a toilet; There is only one thing you can come away with, and that's a load of....

I've fished alot of water but I don't think I've ever been on that one! ;D I've been hearing on the tube that it's going to be a flop. It just isn't that good of a movie. It sounds like most of the people that are going to see it are the ones that have already read the book. I hear the book is a great read, for entertainment not enlightenment!

Im reading the book now and cant put it down. I know this book is fiction. The problem with this book is in chapter six where he talkes of symbols of religion being very powerful . Some religions try to degrade the symbols of another religion in an attempt to erase thier meaning. This is exactly what this book is doing to many religions. I am making these judgements after only reading 22 chapters of 104.
It will only change the minds of those who have little faith.

It's only a movie , a work of fiction like the book from which it was derived .
I can understand how some more devout folk could find it offensive or even blasphemous , good thing they'll never go see it and be offended by it . Those are the same kind of folk who didn't care for the premise of "Jesus Christ-Superstar" back in the 70's , and "The Last Temptation Of Christ" so very recently , and they're entitled to their opinion whether they've seen the movie or read the book or not . More power to them .
By the same token , I can also understand why some more open minded folk might want to see the movie or read the book , and the vast majority of them will see it for what it is , a work of entertainment and nothing more . They will come from the experience either entertained or bored , and that too will be their choice as the First Amendment would have it .
Rev. Wildmon continuously tries to deny them their freedom of choice with his narrow little mind and inability to accept that he lives in a democracy , not a theocracy . His penchant for professional protesting and grandstanding , which he's done non-stop since the 70s , is tiresome and unlikely to ever get him anything but disliked and ignored . I would invite you to Google him sometime and see for yourself the incredibly long list of things that he's protested over the years , some of them will surprise you , some may even anger you , and after reading them for yourself you may think twice about forwarding his anti freedom of choice rants in future posts .

Pro or con. Agree or disagree. Believe or disbelieve. Fiction or non-fiction. Postings in the Campfire are to generate discussions among folks on what is going on in our society today. I think it is interesting to hear both sides of issues. Some are to be accepted, & some are to be ignored, and in the end we are given the opportunity to explore & educate ourselves on the issues. Good post Kevin.

I watched a special on Sci-Fi last night about the Davinci Code, it totally debunked the whole book. The Author refused to appear on the show. He is a smart man, feeding into all of the hype surrounding his writings. It can only help his bottom line. I do want to see the movie, but you have to be an idiot, or of very little faith to let this affect how you feel.

My pastor is preaching a series of sermons that debunks the Da Vinci code. Same here! As Pastor Bian said after reading the book, it is well written and he thinks the man is a marketing genius. It is total fiction though.

I read it. I liked it. It is fiction with some factual history thrown in to make it more entertaining and make the story line hold together. As for my beliefs it changed nothing. I will wait for the movie to come out on dvd and then rent it and watch it. I am not paying what they want to go to the movie theater.
