I took a few practice shots this evening with my Mossberg 935 magnum turkey. I tried my 3.5" longer beard XR's and 3" Winchester Double X. The firearm would not cycle at all.
I had some issues previously and thought it was rectified. After a thorough cleaning of everything and retainer plug replacement, I walked out to the field and fired 3 rounds as quickly as I could. Zero issues.
Not sure why all of a sudden today, the gun won't cycle.
I am strongly considering getting rid of this gun once the issue is resolved. I am at my wits end with dealing with autoloader shotguns.
Any suggestions?

What are you using for lube? A buddy was having problems with his Buckmark pistol. Using Rem Oil. After sitting for a while it seemed to dry out. I lubed it for him using a concoction that I was given and it works fine.
Maybe yours just likes to be run "wet"?
Make sure the first shot counts!!!
A buddy was having problems with his SBE I cycling light loads. He never followed the factory recommendations of lubing it and running 100 rounds of heavy loads through it to break it in. I gave it a good cleaning, beat up my shoulder by running 100 rounds of 1 1/2 oz loads through it, cleaned it again and it will cycle 1150 fps 1 oz loads now. My next autoloader will be a SBE III

I'm going to break it all down and put some heavier lube on it. It all appears to be bone dry for some reason.

Got a friend who swears by Froglube. May I suggest a Benelli Sbe3? They are the bomb.

Not sure what I'll get. Honestly thinking of going back to a pump.

Can’t beat an old Remington 870… 😉
I prefer a pump over an auto-loader. I even shot skeet with an 870.

You know what I say? There is only two kinds of firearms. Browning and others. Lol I would definitely lube it up well. Also make sure if you will be using it in cold weather like duck hunting. That the oil is designed for that kinda use.

I can't seem to remember to shuck a pump shotgun. I am so used to shooting semi-autos and O/U's.

I shot my turkey yesterday morning and, wouldn't ya know it, it did not cycle another round. Mossberg has me taking it to a gun smith next week. The gun smith will do the inspection on it and contact Mossberg in reference to the repairs or if it'll need sent to them for repairs.
Thankfully, I dropped my bird with the first shot.

I just am not a fan of Mossberg, even though I own one of their rifles. I don't think I know of one person that has one of their shotguns that hasn't had a problem at some time or another with theirs, and they aren't high volume shooters.

I have always been a Mossberg fan. I have owned, and still own, several. This is the first one that has given me any issues. It's also the first autoloader I've owned. I now have a bad taste in my mouth for both. Had Mossberg's customer service been a little more friendly, I might not be as upset at the brand.
In all reality, I have had several issues with this gun and they have been of no help to me. From a busted forearm retainer, broken mag plug to the not cycling at all issue. I hope the gunsmith can fix this gun so I can sell/trade it with a good conscious. It will no longer have a home here.

It will always be in your mind. Really no need for a dedicated turkey gun to be an auto. Lots of turkeys killed with single shots, and probably more with pumps. Maybe you said you used it for geese too? That's different. If you really like that gun, maybe look for another? Maybe you got a lemon. I'd read a forum or two for reviews and troubleshooting. I learn a lot from everyday Joe type reviews on alot of stuff.

Okay, I think I have it narrowed down to an issue with the gas piston.
Although my account hasn't yet been approved on Ol Gobbler, reading the forums I think I have an idea.
I'm simply ordering a new piston and hoping that it resolves my problem.
