Put one on my garden tiller 6-7 years ago. Fires up usually first pull after sitting all winter outdoors. Same here, until last summer. I pulled for a long time and NOTHING.It had always started on the third pull,at most. I was getting ready to take it apart, then I noticed the kill switch was turned off! Started on the next pull, LOL.

"Honda in different clothing" I don't know it for a fact, but myself along with several others think so. The components look the same and the motors seem to behave the same.
Most construction companies around here buy the generators, pumps, and replacement motors almost exclusively. Take a look at any beat up troweling machine that looks like junk. It likely has a newer Predator motor. Same with plate compactors.

We went to Harbor Freight this morning. Seen several generators going out the door!
