It seems several of you on here use the tactacams but, do any of you use the solar panels? I'm curious if they're cost/time effective or not.
Thank you.
Also, if you don't mind sharing, what is the monthly cost for cell service per camera?
Thanks again.

I have two of the Tactacam cell cameras with the lithium rechargeable battery pack in them. I don’t have any experience with the solar panels. I run the unlimited photo plan on both cameras and it’s $25 per month for both. For 1 camera it’s $13/month and it’s an additional $12 for the second so it’s $25. The more you have maybe the cheaper it gets…I’ve never looked into that.

I finally got a cell cam in November. My old cam was having issues so figured it was time.
Got a spypoint flex. Worked fine but ate batteries and then a week or 2 ago ate a card. Researched and very common problem. Horrible customer service.
What cameras has everyone had success with?

Boy, that'd sure be frustrating. Especially for what these cell cams cost.
I borrowed a friend's covert cam last year and it burned through batteries. That's why I was considering getting the solar panel.
I do enjoy checking cams by pulling SD cards but, this past Friday I lucked into a new farm (still a couple details to work out) but, it's pretty secluded. I feel the cell cams will be a good a fit.

I think they’re $10-$11 a month each. The majority of them have the tactacam solar packs and they’ve faired well and I would vote to be worth it. My biggest issue so far is the cord from a to b coming out just enough to keep the solar pack from being used. I wish they screwed in somehow. A zip tie has helped keep I in place a bit better. I would also add that I’d especially use them for heavy traffic areas such as a food plot or a waterhole or hard to get too don’t want to go there areas. Wish they were a bit cheaper to run and I’d run them all through the year. Now I’ve moved some around to still do some trespasser patrol.

They have been in the field for 2 yrs 24-7. They are doing great. The only issue is that a couple of cams stopped taking pics for a while (due to timing and logistics) I got a hold of tacta cam (great customer service) and told me what to do. I reset the cams as instructed to do and they reset. I have 2 plans one is 5$ and the other is 13$, the 5$ plan 2 cams combined (surveillance) doesn't take a lot of pics, the 13$ plan 2 cams combined are unlimited (they are at hunting sites) lots of pics good luck with what you choose.

I have 8 of the moultry delta's. Last couple years they seamed to worked on and off, but this past season they worked consistently. The latest update must have fixed the issue's they were having. I run the standard plan $9.99 a month per camera, for 1000 pictures a month per cam. I keep one camera activated all summer and cancel the others during the off season. I run HME Solar Panels ($70). Camera's without panels go through AA lithium's from 30-60 days depending on temperature. If putting camera on food plot, feeder, bear bait I set them to 5 minute delay, otherwise the data get's used up quickly. I also leave a couple camera's down in Indiana that family member puts out for me.
