Don't count out the mail in votes! ROFL They've had two test runs so far. I wouldn't be surprised if Trump lost. He will get people out to vote against him that normally would sit at home and not vote, at least that's my feeling. At the same point, I hope that the Red team sweeps all 3 and has a super majority. That's the only way to get anything done.

It seems that the Democratic mayors are all NIMBY's when push comes to shove. It's OK when Texas has to deal with the illegals and pay for them, but not the sanctuary cities? I also agree with what he's doing in regards to the border. If the Feds won't stop the tide then he has to. Could you see all the illegals that cross into Texas getting shipped to Washington DC and letting them deal with them? I bet the cost of transportation is less than the cost of keeping them there. If the Feds can ship them all around the country, why can't a state do the same thing?

. Maybe, just maybe, a dark horse will appear and save us from the nightmare of a choice between Trump and Biden.
Good Christ, is the best we can come up with, again?
We are going to hell in a hand-basket.
A doddering old fool and a megalomaniac?

We are going to hell in a hand-basket. A doddering old fool and a megalomaniac? I have a legitimate question, my Democrat friend: Just what is it that the liberal media, Democrat lawmakers, etc. think the public perceives when they constantly say that Trump will be "the end of our democracy, instill fascism," etc? I am truly asking an honest question. I'd ask my FIL, but he is so narrow-minded that he would likely suffer a medical event. Just how would the reelection of Trump "end our democracy"? Unless I am missing something, we would still have the House and Senate oversight. Correct? If I remember correctly, during Trump's tenure, the border was more secure, the economy was thriving, approval rating were high, etc. Right? Also, other than future votes, what do the Democrats hope to gain from an open southern border?

If the Feds can ship them all around the country, why can't a state do the same thing? Here's what I don't get ...... Why let them in in the first place? Needs to be some fear of immanent danger if caught crossing the border illegally. Crossing borders at other places could get you shot. If and when we do catch them crossing into the US, why not hand them a copy of the rules for immigration, then immediately turn them around and dump their rear ends right back in Mexico where they came from? Why spend time & money on illegals when we could just immediately toss them back across the border? Shipping them to another US city adds more expense and just about assures they will never be deported.

I agree with making the good ones legal heck we need good workers and a population that actually wants to reproduce or we won't have a country. The demon rats don't want that though, they want entitlement slavery.

I like Jon Huntsman and John Kasich. I can't think of a Democrat that I would support. Jon Tester maybe. Right now I see no one that is interested though.
We seem to always lately default to the worst choices.
Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump? OMG...
As for being a Democrat, well partly...I prefer Independent, slightly left of center.
As for Trump, I give him credit for pinching down the border issue.
However saying that he had us "energy independent" is way misleading. The period of very low gas prices was due to Covid, not policy. The fact is that oil companies are producing all-time record amounts of oil in the US now. Much more than during the Trump administration. (and record profits) More is being produced than we use, so much oil is being exported. Remember, oil is a privately owned commodity and the companies are free to sell it where they please. The CEO of ExxonMobil does not sit around thinking about how to make your gas cheaper.
Considering the turmoil in the Middle East, $2.95/gallon for gasoline seems not too bad.
A lot of my problem with Trump is his plan to re-instate tariffs on China and other countries. Starting a trade war hurts everybody.

Starting a trade war hurts everybody. In case you missed it, Biden re-affirmed, (or continued, whatever you want to call it) the tariffs that Trump put in place on China. That quietly happened a few months ago. If a country has tariffs on our goods going to that country, then why shouldn't we do the same to them for the goods coming here? What Biden is NOT doing is enforcing the trade bans and restrictions on Iran, which is allowing them to rake in the cash which in turn funds terrorism. I may be wrong, but last I heard the non-enforcement enriched their coffers by about 10 billion dollars. This does not count the billions that Biden wisely had Qatar hold onto. I agree with you that it's another election of who's the lesser of the two evils.

China subsidizes some (if not all) of their industries. They then dump their products on our markets too drive our companies out of business and monopolize. No way our manufacturers can compete with the Chinese government. Trump knew this and held their feet to the fire. China owns Biden so Biden rescinded the tariffs.

As for the gas prices, look at the gas and diesel prices in 2018 and 2019 before Covid. Diesel was barely over $3/gallon and gas was in the $2.40/$2.50 per gallon range here. Down in Arkansas I saw gas for under $2/gallon.
Diesel down in Arkansas was in the middle to upper $2/gallon range. Diesel is the key, not gas because diesel is used to get all the things that we buy to the stores.
