With all that's going on in my life, work, finishing deer season, the busy Christmas holiday, it was nice to get a 4 day weekend to finish out the year. We took Luke to grandmas, and I took my wife out for a day of fun on Friday. We did some shopping and traveling around, and scored a couple good bargains. But the main attraction was a trip to our local casino, for our yearly fun of throwing hard earned money down the drain. Lol. Actually, we have went on New Years Eve off and on for most of our time together. We only spend $20 each, and go to watch everybody else and get free coffee. It's just been a symbolic date we periodically share for fun. The machines have obviously been turned down, lose, lose, lose anymore, yet the price to play has gone up, up, and up. Lowest we could find was .30 cents a spin, instead of penny and nickel machines we used to have fun on. We only go for the fun, and have no expectations. We get an hour or less typically for our money.
Anyway, for the real zinger, we went to their fancy buffet. Special was Prime Rib and shrimp. Crab legs could be had, but were an up charge, so we did fine without them. I must say, it was some of the finest dining we ever had. Everything was extremely tasty and organized.
I know, this isn't big doings for some. But we live a very simple life, without much sizzle or flash, so it's kind of a big deal for us, and we got to enjoy a little time to ourselves.
We did see that kids were able to dine, so when we get another chance and the piggybank allows, we will take big Luke to put a hurting on them. Lol

So, how much hurting did you put on them without little Luke? How much was the up charge for the crab legs? Snow crab or king crab?

And was it the Michigan city or the one closer to south bend? I have not been up to my inlaws in a coons age. Maybe fun place to eat. Never been to any of them. I have zero desire to gamble, but a crableg buffet and prime rib....

That's pretty cool to read! I'm glad you two keep that tradition going. It sounds like you had an amazing weekend with some good eats. You work hard for your money, it's nice hearing about you enjoying with your family.

This time we tried Four Winds in South Bend. Definately worth the price if you show up hungry, and go on a standard day. The holiday price is double. Crab legs are $15/# extra. Not worth it since a lot of the weight is shell imo.

#15/lb extra and not all you can eat? Nope, not for me.
