Well I ordered something from LL Bean for my wife to be delivered to a friends house. It never came despite UPS notifying me on email that it was delivered. You can check the delivery on the UPS website and see a photo of where it was left. I looked at the photo and neither my buddy or myself recognize it. So I called LLB and they said they would send out a replacement right away. Double checked the address etc.
So today I get three emails from LLB, each one having a different order number and UPS tracking number. So I opened them up and the delivery photo is yet another place we don’t know, but with still the correct address. Three packages.
So I tried to contact LLB again but they are unavailable online because of the big east coast power outages. The live help won't be available until tomorrow, maybe.
The UPS people said they would investigate but they are buried. So, I ordered from somewhere else and tomorrow I will go to the bank and dispute the charge, and try to cancel the LLB order.
I have always found UPS and Fedex to both be reliable.
Anybody else having trouble? LLB has shipped out four pairs of expensive shearling wool and leather mocassins to somebody!

Yes. My wife ordered a gift for one of our girls. The package was delivered ...? The back-and-forth went on for a couple of weeks and the shipper finally sent a replacement at no cost. A few days after the replacement was delivered, the original package showed up. Apparently it was taken to a USPO with a similar zip code and they sat on it for a bit until finally transferring it to the proper facility.

FedEx is just horrible these days. Always some sort of issue with them. The latest being two TVs I ordered on Black Friday. We got home and saw the boxes laying in the driveway like they’d been thrown there. There was gravel embedded in the boxes so they weren’t put down gently. Plugged the first one in and it was destroyed. The entire screen was broke. Somehow the second one managed to be ok.

My wife ordered a shirt jacket about 3 weeks ago from a semi known company Zulily. We found out yesterday that they just laid off all the employees (300). My bet they are going out of business. It don't think she will get it. It's not worth trying to get the jacket and or the money.

A few yrs back we found a package in the highway. We took it to the address and left it there. Kind of figured someone picked it up and laid it on to of their roof then drove away.
Later found out the driver was randomly tossing packages out the truck. I think it was ups but may have been fedex.
Usps around here can be hit or miss. Seems most days we don't get mail on our road every day and most of the time it is well after dark when we get mail. Pretty sure hard to fill those rural carrier routes.

I have a friend that is a long-time USPS delivery guy. He said for the last half of the year they have been starting routes before daylight and finishing a SECOND route in the dark. Like a lot of places, they can't get and keep employees even at USPS. He said he was expecting USPS to go to 7 days a week delivery right about this time because of the Christmas mail and packages.

Here FedEx is the worst, USPS is 2nd and UPS is the best. If I see my mailbox door open when I get home one more time I will whizz off the USPS people, but too dang bad. I will make the door self closing and they will have to use two hands to deliver the mail. I have the largest legal mailbox that is available so they don't have to get out and walk up to the door to deliver smaller packages.

FedEx has delivered several packages this year to the wrong people, and I buy gold from some sights, and at one point gave away 1/2 oz of gold and said that it was at my house. Also, if you get anything delivered to my house from FedEx, the package is guaranteed to be smashed completely flat. I’ve had to return scopes because FedEx mashed the packages so bad.

I get your frustration but in the end, I don't think that trying to "whizz off the USPS people" is going to do you much good and making the mailbox door "self closing" will likely end up in a whole bunch of undelivered mail @ your address with a notice that you will have to pick your mail up @ the post office.

I live in an unincorporated area and the post office is only 1 mile away. I talked to them a year ago when this first started happening and it was the substitutes that were being lazy in not closing the door completely. I talked to the local route delivery driver and she said to do it, she was tired of trying to cover for the subs when she was off and had perturbed people to deal with when she came back from vacation. The post mistress also gave me her blessing to do it. I'm sick and tired of getting soggy mail. If the person doesn't want to DO THEIR JOB then I will make it easier for them to do it. I am tired of being the doormat. There is nothing in the postal regulations that says that I cannot do that and the postal people that I talked to said that if the sub doesn't deliver the mail and the mailbox is "legal" that will give them more ammunition to write them up and get rid of them if they can't DO THEIR JOB.

Lots of Walmart packages and some Amazon packages have been "delivered" and never showed up. Luckily one time the lazy driver dropped them off at a house belonging to our neighbor's mother all the way in a small town 10 minutes from us and she recognized the address. Our neighbor went and brought them to us. Kitty litter for our cat, good thing that found it's way to us! Last time it happened we think the packages were just dropped off on the side of the road. Including a nice copy of a portrait of the Marquis de Lafayette my mom had ordered for me to use as a speech prop.

Since I live near the end of a private drive FedEx and UPS drivers have a heard time who's who on the drive. Now USPS does a better job with the actual house address. We get each other neighbors all the time. At least it's on your private drive.

The overwhelming majority of these shipments go correctly.
Think about what we are requiring here ...... Ordering a $10 item while sitting in your underwear, on your computer or phone, shipping it halfway across the country in two days, right to our doorstep, so we can open the screen door bend down and grab this item, rather than run to a store and buy one.
We've got it pretty darned good. Cut these shippers some slack. They are overwhelmed with business due to our laziness and demands.

That’s the job those chose, so they can do it correctly. Not that hard to walk something to a porch instead of shoving it out the truck in the driveway. My son watched a driver literally kick a swimming pool we ordered, which was multiple boxes, out of the back of the truck and just drive away.

Asked the girls what color lights they wanted on the tree. Pink and white. So….. ordered 3 sets of pink lights from Home Depot a month before getting the tree. Get a notification they ship but then no tracking information. Called Depot and they would look into it. 3 days later online it showed as cancelled. Ugh…. Did the tree without them then 3 days later 6 sets show up randomly at the house. 3 from fedex and three from ups on the same day. Never did charge me. Still just ugh….
