There was a young mother that went missing in a county south of Louisville a few years ago, maybe 2015 or so. Her car was found with her purse and cell phone inside. She has never been found.
A past boyfriend and father of one of her many children has been the suspect from the onset. He is a former LEO that turned to home building. The FBI has searched everywhere this guy has ever been known to be. They have excavated driveways and patios of homes he built, excavated areas of his family farm, etc. No body or weapon has ever been recovered.
This guy was arrested a few weeks ago and charged with her murder. Now, he seems guilty, but that's not how our legal system works. My question is that if no body has been recovered, how can someone be charged with her murder? It's not like it was witnessed that she was pushed off a boat or cliff and the body has not been found. No weapon has been recovered and not, to my knowledge, DNA evidence.
Maybe she doesn't want to be found? Maybe she is in another state or country living under a false ID?

A lawyer just has to convince 12 jurors that he killed her.

A lawyer just has to convince 12 jurors that he killed her. Without any doubt…..without a body or weapon seems like a waste unless he pleads guilty for a lesser charge!

A judge can declare the "Presumption of death" without a body, remains or a witness to the act. There are a lot of pieces to the puzzle that a prosecutor must place together in order to put that before a judge or grand jury. It's not an easy thing to do.
My guess is there's a lot more going on in this investigation than what the public is being told. I would hope that any prosecutor or investigator, that's worth anything, would hold their cards close to their chest as to not taint their investigation.
I can't say I'm familiar with this case but, it does sound interesting.

Another case similar to this is about a young lady from Alexandria, IN named Suzanne Morphew! She went missing on Mother's Day of 2020 out in Colorado. Her husband was arrested in connection with her death and subsequently released without a body or murder weapon being found. Then they found her body this past September and have yet to release any details of her murder or file any new charges.

You watch enough Dateline or other murders shows you realize there are a lot of missed up people out there.

The FBI has been involved for several years and I don't know if the guy (and his brother) are guilty of these two killings, but it does make you wonder.
Having said that...
At some point, it's time to either put up or shut up and I think that time is way overdue.

If not for that poor mother this would of been forgotten about a long time ago.

Idk I think convicting someone that could be likely innocent is awful. It's why we have the best legal system in the world.
