I would bet that some might venture here just for the possibility of a shot at one. In all my years of hunting here I've only seen one deer in that category. Many who venture here for that will be disappointed. I routinely run across guys from Michigan and met some golks from Alabama and Georgia this year.

Yeah i meet my share in parke of disappointed fat wallets. I just SMH I've hunted some of the best areas we have for 30 years and have had one fleeting glimpse of one that big and feel lucky for that. It's comical

Just think how many out state hunters would be here if we really was a Trophy state…careful what you wish for! Anyone with land they are unhappy with just put it up for lease people will stand in line to pay $30-$50 + an acre to lease it! One man’s trash is another man’s Treasure….

I'm not wishing for anymore monsters on the internet from Indiana. We've both posted our views on leasing, no need to go down that road.

I've lived and worked in some fine deer habitat most of my life and I've seen only three truly HUGE deer. Working in the coal mines of southern Indiana for 29 years and deer hunted for over 60 years I've had plenty of opportunities to see them. One nontypical and two typical, how deer of such size can manage to avoid being seen never fails to amaze me.

Our county is not exactly, a big buck hotbed but both of these were killed here in the same week. A few hunters knew about the big one that the lady killed. My friend had it on camera 15 yards from his stand the day before it was killed and the day it was killed. The pic above is one of the pics and he showed me the other. He told me he was walking out to the woods the morning after it got shot to hunt for it and was sent the pic of the lady holding it literally as he was halfway to his stand lol.

I have seen one buck in my life that would somewhat be in the category of these. About 10 years ago I bought my first climber as I had always used ladders. A week before gun season I went out to the woods with my stepdad and cousin to hang it and try it out. We picked out a spot halfway up a hill by a cedar thicket. We picked a tree and my cousin went out first was standing in it and talking about the spot as we stood there. He then came down and I tried it out. I went up about twenty feet and was talking to them on the ground when we heard crashing in the cedars. All of the sudden a doe ran out and the biggest buck any of us had ever seen was right behind her. They stopped wide ass open at about 25 yards. Here all three of us are standing there without nothing to do but look at it. After about 30 seconds the deer seen us and whirled the buck followed and he never had a clue we were there. He was a monster 12-13 pointer with an ass that looked as wide as a truck running away from us. My cousin and dad have both killed monster deer, each has a taken a book 14 pointer and they both said that’s by far the biggest buck they had ever seen. I never seen that deer again but will never forget it
