Our youngest daughter (8th grade) told us about the teacher in her science class going on an anti-Trump rant during class. I don't care that he doesn't like Trump and I don't care that he used several expletives. What I do care about is the fact that political opinion does NOT belong in public school classrooms. If the history of politics, theories, etc is taught during the proper class, fine. I learned about politics in 12th grade Government class. If you want to send your child to a given private school that adheres to particular political and social beliefs, fine, none of mine or anyone else's concern.
My immediate thought was to call the school and file a complaint, but my company is trying to do some business with the corporation and I don't think raising a stink would help. No worries though, several other parents raised a huge stink and now the teacher is in trouble with the school and, apparently, it's bad enough that the union has told him that he really screwed up and there isn't much they can do to help.
I don't want the man to lose his job, but rather learn a lesion that others will learn from as well.
