Not safe for sure, what is not legal about it though? Screws in the tree Lots of states won’t allow anything that penetrates the bark… like screw in steps.

Ahh I see, had me confused a bit as Indiana allows for some screws 1/2 inch or less I believe.

It’s not the size of screw it’s how far you screw it in…On many trees a 1/2 inch wouldn’t be much past the bark if that far.

True but 1/2 inch is legal. Not necessarily for climbing or supporting a tree stand but 1/2 inch is legal.

I know some people from Oklahoma. Anybody ever think this was done as a joke? Possibly done to see if anybody would be dumb enough to try to use it?
