How are you local guys doing during gun season? My partner and I have struck out so far.We hunt southern Miami County and there seems to be far less hunting pressure this year.We heard a couple of shots Sat morn, one Sun and zero Mon. We are seeing nice deer just no chance at a good shot so far. Let's hear what is going on in your "neck of the woods"

I used to hunt Mississinewa hard from 86 to 97.Archery season was good but when firearms started it made for some really tough hunting. There are some nice bucks running around that property, you just have to hunt them hard and put your time in. My partner finally scored a doe last Sunday morning.I am going to stay after them all weekend.I might not get one but it won't be for lack of effort. It has been a disappointing season for us,considering the hrs we have put in. Good Luck!

Hey Guys..
I live in Galveston and I hunt just Northwest of Logansport in Cass County. Been seeing LOTS of deer and a couple really nice bucks but only one close enough for a decent shot.
My son managed to take a 7 pointer during the Firearms season and my 16 year old grandson took a fat doe. I managed to take a decent 9 pointer and a HUGE doe that field dressed 128 pounds.
I plan on being back out there during the Muzzleloader season trying to put some more venison in the freezer.
I have been receiving a number of emails from folks that read my outdoor column in the Kokomo Perspective newspaper and they are seeing less deer now that the RUT has wound down.
GOOD HUNTING.. Bud Fields

I hunt western Miami on our family farm. Mostly on weekends being I live in NW Clinton Co. I shot a nice sized button buck that I thought was a doe opening day @ 80 yds with the .44 mag.Have seen some but not as many as in the past. My Buddy shot a doe right out from under a buck opening day up there too. Didn't even let him finish.
