Have you guys seen these things yet? I just did for the first time. I didn't know anything about them. I took the dogs out tonight and I see a string of lights in a perfectly straight line moving across the night sky. It kind of freaked me out a little bit to be honest. I went inside and got my 3 stepkids, they were the only ones awake. The oldest knew about them and told us what they were. I had to look it up.

My son was visiting a while back and saw them. Came back in. Cool and creepy at the same time. I think it was just before the first outbreak of Covid.

I've seen them in the past. It's amazing how well you can see them with the naked eye.

I've seen them quite a bit. Interesting for sure, but if you ask me, not very nice to have around. More satellites, more astronomy views that get ruined. Oh, and dis I mention that most astrophotographers would love to get these things out of the sky? They are even ruining plenty of Hubble images now! On the other hand they are a huge help with internet, etc. Just please put something on them so that they don't reflect so much light!
But they are fun to watch when they first get launched. For a few days or so after launch they are in a string that gets looser and looser. They certainly are attention grabbing then. But if you thought a string of Starlink satellites looked weird, wait until you see a Falcon 9 rocket fuel dump! I'm an amateur astronomer, so I'm used to seeing "UFOs" (military, low and slow flying planes flying towards me, and sometimes bright stars and planets near the horizon), and one night last year I was busy finishing up prepping my telescope for observing at 2 in the morning. Looked up casually, looked back down and fiddled with the scope, looked back up casually, and "What in the world!!!!" I saw a strange swirly cloud with a bright dot near it's middle that I had never seen before or heard of. It grew bigger and expanded towards the east. It was right overhead when I first saw it. Wondered for about two days, then on the astronomy forum I am member of someone posted about the most recent Falcon 9 launch and was wondering what they had seen in the sky at the same time I was wondering what the strange thing was. Well it was a Falcon 9 fuel dump. Pretty cool.

I've seen them in the past. It's amazing how well you can see them with the naked eye. They are among the brightest satellites. Most you can't see easily with the naked eye. A lot of astronomers don't like Starlink and other Elon Musk satellites because of how bright they are.

I have watched the international space shuttle several times. That thing was hauling azz. Seen it too. If you have a telescope, a good challenge that some people like to do is to attempt visual observation of the ISS. It moves so fast that you really need a camera to do it well. The solar panel "wings", etc are very easy to see if your telescope tracks or if you have good quick eyes. I've never yet done it, but it would be cool!

So how is the reception in this?
DAughter moved to the country and their internet is horrible. He says it has a long wait to sign up with Starlink.

I was a major part programing land and air starlinks three years ago. It was one of my top secert projects. Last year declassified. It will be the new internet run per quantum system. The fiat dollor will be replaced with USTreasury note dollar. Best part every dollar will be traced. Ones using it for evil will be removed from the system.

Pretty sure I posted a pic on here somewhere. You can't sit outside for 5 minutes at night now without seeing a satellite whiz by.
