Any recommendations on a GOOD vegetation killer? I have tried round up 365 this spring and it didn't last over a month. I tried Ortho last week and I would almost bet they mislabeled a fertilizer concentrate. So frustrating.
I use a 4 gallon back pack sprayer. Apparently that makes a difference on some brands ,(per their labels).

We use Wynca Sunphosate at work. I don't think the results are as fast as Round Up, but when it kicks in, it looks like Agent Orange took a torch to the vegetation.

I've had good luck with a product called Barrier from Rual King.

Speaking as someone dealing with the effects of agent orange, my advice is be careful, and take every precaution with whatever you choose. That stuff kills more than vegetation.

Are you wanting a soil sterilant?

Are you wanting a soil sterilant? Whatever kills the weeds for a LONG time. My biggest complaint is weed eating around my fence. Takes forever, goes through a lot of string and kills my back

Glyphosate (roundup and its variants) are only a contact killer, with no residual effect. It will kill anything (unless a tolerance has been developed) that it gets sprayed on. But in 3 weeks or so, you will get a new flush of weeds. Im not as familiar with the trade names any longer, but a call to your local co-op would give you some answers on a residual. Unfortunately, you will most likely need an applicators license to be able to purchase a lot of the “good stuff”, unless you can get some from a local farmer with that applicators license. Pramitoll has always been the nuclear option when you want nothing to grow whatsoever, but surprised you can get that over the counter so to speak. If you can, more power to you and happy spraying.

Glyphosate mixed at an 8% solution (I use a bit of pond dye to see how heavy I am applying it - the dye goes away in a few days) followed up by a spray of a soil sterilizer.

Lots of weeds are getting resistant to Glyphosate / Round-up. It still kills a lot of them, but many are not affected. I've been adding a little 2-4-D to my glyphosate and that makes a big difference.
Wonder what that stuff they spray along the railroad tracks is? Whatever it is, it kills everything dead for about a year.

County came by spraying this summer and I was talking to them. Said they are having a hard time controlling Kudzu. Growing mainly along RR tracks.

Do you notice that the new "flush of weeds" seems to contain taller grass like foxtail, and a few types of tall weeds tHt did not seem to be there before? It's as if the weeds send in the grenadiers after the expendable troops are wiped out.

A buddy of mine who has a lawn mower Service uses a mixture of water and Dawn dish detergent and sprays the weeds on a hot day.

I use Mojave with round up pro & this works great for the season. Round up kills the weeds & the Mojave is a pre emergent to keep them from coming back .

Generic glyphosate at 8% solution then follow up with Sahara or Esplanade 200 SC by Bayer. Both of the latter have residual for the rest of the year. Sahara is a wettable powder, but it can travel up to 3' in the soil. Esplanade won't travel and it is a liquid.
