My opinion is 100% opposite. Been a long time since I have been in a small shop. Too many times attempted and walked out confused how they stay in biz. I should probably re-word my opinion. Yes, there are a lot of little gun shops that have very little inventory, opinionated management and don't move a lot of product. These places are indeed a pain to deal with. The gun shops I generally deal with are the bigger, better private shops. Two favorites are Four Guns in Lafayette and True Value in Plymouth. The big turn offs regarding places like Cabelas, Sportsman Warehouse, Gander Mountain, etc. are ...... taking a number and waiting in line to see something and escorting you out to your car with your purchase. Next time you are up in Plymouth, give me a shout. If I'm in the area lets grab lunch. I'm maybe 6 miles from Ace.

I do a bit of business with USDS in Greenwood. Never a problem. Great people to know, deal with. Full service store.

Picked up a Turkish over under shotgun at a pawn shop today. Had to wait about 20 minutes but was approved. Can’t wait to get this thing out in a dove field! Picture?

Is that a stock photo or a pic of the one you bought? Either way nice gun.

To update. I was denied the purchase. No idea why. Can anyone explain how the same alphabet group approves me to conceal carry also denies me a shotgun purchase. And zero explanation. Constitutional right but I have to jump through hoops to exercise said right.

That is odd, and that sucks. Any clerical errors possible? What did you answer for the 5 new questions? You certainly don't have to answer any of those to me but that's all I can think of that would hold you up unless you have had any domestic dispute calls to the house.

Constitutional right but I have to jump through hoops to exercise said right. You have the right to appeal. They must inform you why.

I say where ever you are buying the gun has screwed up the process…..don’t be surprised if the gun got sold to someone else!

All I could find about any appeal process was that I'd have to get fingerprinted and send that in and they'll send me a background check that they use. Nothing about telling my why I was denied

I believe there is only one yes question and it’s the first one everything else should been a NO… And yes the questions have been the same for awhile….

Basically the five questions I'm talking about we're worded in federal lawyer jargon and basically asked if I planned on selling the gun or if I was buying the gun for someone else (straw purchase). The last gun I bought was in 2021 during covid and I do not recall being asked those questions.

Probably answered yes to the are you buying for someone else. I had to pause, ask and think the way this was worded for my pistol purchase. Very confusing.

You can google 4473 form changes and find out what exactly was changed.
