Was out in my woods several times the last three days, saw many Does and two bucks. The Deer act like ,business as usual, same pattern as the last three weeks. Do they not know it is getting about rut time? Where is the excitement among the Does, where are the Bucks standing in the edges with nervous energy and anticipation. Oh yea, maybe the anticipation is more for me.

They should be cranking it up-I know that Charlie Alsheimer from Deer & Deer Hunting gave his annual rut predictions, based on moon phases, and he predicted the best time to be in the field this season as November 8 to the 18.
Understand, that`s not the rut, but all the activity leading up to "lockdown". All the fighting, seeking and chasing-which is prime time to be buck hunting.
You should be seeing it soon.

I checked my field notes from last year and it looks like starting this weekend things should really pick up.I think Charlie is right on, last year on the 6th of November I saw 4 shooter bucks chasing does. One of those came home with me on the 9th of Nov.
