Been out 3 times and only seen one deer. I shot him, scruby antlers but good sized body 130-140#s. After I get him cut up I will go for a few does. First time I have had other people interested in me getting a deer for them.

Yesterday morning I hunted the farm I have permission on over in Hedricks Co.. It was the best morning of the year. I saw nearly 20 deer...all but 3 were doe though. The 3 bucks were ok, but weren't shooters in my book. The corn is finally getting cut so the deer are heading for the woods finally. I did have an odd thing happen....after a grunting series I saw a deer quickly coming to my calls... I get ready as it's on a string coming to my stand location, of course I am picturing a huge monster, right? It was a doe!!! I have never had a doe run in after grunting. This thing got within 20 yards of my location and was breaking her neck to try to find where those grunts were coming from. After a moment I thought that maybe it was a button buck or something, but after glassing it over there is no doubt that it was a doe. Weird.....

I sat up a stand Monday night Nov. 1. The nice thing about it was that it rained that night and took out the scent from me sweating. I seen a path they been using and they always cross in the area. I sat in my stand for about 30 min. when he came poking down the hill to my right at about 80 yards. I used my grunt tube about 3 times at him, he stopped and looked and started coming towards my like he was on a string. After working in to about 15 yards, I was still setting down on my seat, turned and drew the bow back when stepped behind the tree. Found an opening in the limbs and set my pin on his chest and waited for the release to go off. He went about 50 yards and crashed. His rack was not huge but still a very nice deer. He was in full blown rut. I'll try to get pictures of he posted. by the way I live in Madison co.

I arrived in Parke County November 3 around 11:00am ,Got checked in at the Motel and unpacked.I was in the woods by 12:30 to hang stands and do alittle scouting. I was glad to see the white oak acorns on the ground, and I saw plenty of sign, I hung my stand in the same tree I 've hunted the last two years. It's a pinch point coming from a fresh cut corn field to a bedding area. There's two steep ravines that run up the the ridge and stop with in 40 yards of each other, and the deer funnel in between the two ravines. On November 4, I was in the stand well before daylight. The first deer came through at 7:30am,A doe. At 7:45 ,a nice nine pointer came under me. in about 10 min. a 4 pointer came down the same trail. Between then and 10:30 I saw eight more deer two which were bucks. At about 10:45am a spike bedded down under me facing the bedding area.At 11:05 I saw my buck for the first time.He pushed up a doe and ran her down the ridge.About 10 min. later he ran her under me and down the ravine to the left.At 11:20 am I heard somthing coming back up the ravine.I was already standing and ready. He came right under me and was headed towards the corn field.I stopped him at 18 yards and made a quartering away shot.He ran down the ravine and died only fifty yards from my stand. It took me and a friend about a hour to get him out of the ravine and back to the truck.
