From the article...
Some people will buy the new 360 buckhammer just because it's that...new. What keeps a cartridge around for years is proven accuracy and on game performance.
So based on the above, I have a feeling the .35 Remington will be around for years to come.
As for the .360 buckhammer...
It might be a great round. Maybe even good enough that Remington (otherwise known as Remarms) might actually bring out a rifle chambered for it someday. If they start building lever guns or single shots.

So, it looks like the .360 Buckhammer would be legal on public land in Indiana?

So, it looks like the .360 Buckhammer would be legal on public land in Indiana? .357 and less than 1.8" so yes. The same bullets will work in either rifle. So that may help the 35 Rem. I noticed in the balistics table they list a Buffalo Bore 220 grain JSP bullet as going faster than the 200 grain bullets. Is the 35 Rem being held back like the 45-70 was by some rifles that could not handle much more than 35K psi? If henry is chambering the buckhammer at 50K psi the 336 should be able to hold it too. Henry is just a 336 knock off. It was just an opinion anyway. I will stick with the 35 Rem.

35 Rem ammo & brass gets harder to find all the time. At 75, I probably have enough for the duration, but if I didn't cast & reload, the ol' Handi rifle would rarely see daylight.

Worse case scenario, could have rechambered to 358 Hoosier, 358 Win, or 35 Whelen if you were in love with that gun/barrel. Could always trade off barrels, etc. I love my Encores for that reason.

Yes, the 35 Rem is throttled back due to lots of original semi-autos out there still in use apparently or at least theoretically. Lever actions and single shots can handle higher pressures. Similar conditions to what you find in .45 Colt ammo. Most manufacturers keep them pretty sedate to allow the use of older weapons, but if you have something like a Ruger Blackhawk you can move the .45 Colt into .44 Mag territory.

High end 45 Colt is rockin!!! I had a Blackhawk, and loaded to Ruger/TC specs. It was a 4 5/8" barrel, and was NO FUN to shoot. Lol. Loaded in a 460SW Encore rifle barrel, they were most excellent.
