Cool!!!! I was involved with building one way back when, and was on the track with it for a few runs (not in the car). It's a whole different level of noise and fire being there on the track. Les Shockley at Cordova with his 3 engined jet truck actually tore the blacktop off of the strip in the staging lane before the cars hit the water box.
This is the one we built.

I'm just minutes away from Edgewater. I could have rolled down the hill. I listened to them Friday night and a lot of nights.

Something we were wondering, the white cloud of exhaust before they ignite, is that just a cloud of jet fuel? There were people standing back behind them a ways getting smoked out from the cars

That's unburned JP1 or diesel that they dump into the motor to create the cloud. The burner pops ignites some of the fuel in the cloud but not all of it.
