My wife picked up this hummingbird feeder for a nickel at a yard sale. I think she had in mind to give it as a gift. Since it has just been sitting around collecting dust, I thought I might put it to use. The instructions show how to attach this to a window with the enclosed suction cups. Will hummingbirds be deterred by people action through the window, ie. open curtains?

Not in our experience. My wife hangs two right outside the window and we watch from a foot or two away. They might get startled at first, but get used to you right off the bat. They are cool to watch.

Tell your wife not to spend so much cash on one thing 😀 I’ve not found it to be a issue I planted some bushes/ trees right next to my deck for them I sit out there a bunch not uncommon to have them feeding a few feet away

I’ve got a hummer feeder hanging on a Shepards hook right outside my den window I’ve sat at my desk and watched them ..no problem. Now if one is on the feeder and I walk in suddenly they might fly away, but they come back
That doesn’t look like it’s very big so you could be refilling it every couple hours

They are cool to watch. That's what we've seen as well. Once they get used to you its game on. They are fiesty little guys and gals. When my son was younger, they would eventually light on his finger and feed. And you are right, very interesting to watch.

My son would sit on the picnic table holding the hummingbird feeder. They would land on him.

I was at a customers place sitting right next to the feeder and thought they were going to peck my eyes out, they'd hover less than a foot from my face if I didn't move.
