Seems odd I never had turkeys until a few years ago now I see them a lot still not a bunch but good numbers for here and you guys that had turkeys all this time didn’t see them or at least that’s I thought I understood reading theses post all the way from start of season to the end I’m not complaining at all 3rd year they have been back here every year more and more of them hopefully they continue to grow in numbers again this year. I have only had them on my farm for about 10 years. I can still remember when I saw the first one here. I remember it well I was sitting at the kitchen table on Sunday night writing checks and paying my bills yes I’m still old school when I looked out and noticed turkeys two of them both hens at first sight I honestly didn’t even realize what I was looking at. Years back they turned some lose around this area but they never did that well most didn’t make it long. I was excited but figured it was just a fluke maybe a month or so longer one walked right past my house with 9 poults in tow seen them a few times over summer but they moved on over winter. Last spring same thing all of a sudden turkeys showed up hens and some jakes never seen a Tom but they stayed around here most of the summer and when fall came gone again This spring Tom’s jakes and hens showed up about 20 at any given time sometimes more 10 almost daily I figured 1 turkey won’t be missed much so I made a plan fortunately it worked
