Infestation of feral pigs that for sure. Some serious dollars to kill those pigs.

A lady here at school her husband is a salesman. He got a free hog hunt out of a helicopter last year. Killed over 100 in an hour. He said it was a blast.

I'm curious to hear what the ammo bill is.

I would say thrown in some hole or drug off to side of field.

Man, that’s a lot of hogs. Between all the shooting and running them over I’m pretty sure quite a few of those pigs were turned into ground pork immediately.

I know some wild hogs are eaten but I thought as of late there was some sort of disease that you could get from them??? I've never shot one nor seen a wild one but there was a time I wouldn't mind getting one just for the meat, now I'm not so sure.

I've ate wild ones from four different states, all ages and sizes, haven't had a bad one yet.

Trichinosis, but if it's frozen for more than 20 days at least 5°F or cooked to an internal temp of a minimum of 160°F you won't get it.

I would say thrown in some hole or drug off to side of field. I went on a hog hunting trip to TX a few years ago. We hunted from a helicopter and on the ground at night with the required gear. If you do have a chance to go and have a choice, go in late winter/early spring before the tree canopy leafs out. We found a good number of hogs, but they were nearly impossible to see once they got in the trees. That was in September. There was not an option to recover any killed during the helicopter hunts. The outfitter said that state biologists determined that most carcasses were substantially cleaned up by scavengers and other hogs within 72 hours. The damage done to the ground during recovery is not more beneficial than leaving the carcasses. We were allowed to recover any, if wanted, killed during the ground hunt. It was so hot and we were so exhausted that we had no interest in fooling with them. It was obvious that the outfitter did not either.

I agree the hunting club I am in, in Alabama had a bad hog problem for years. I would kill 30plus in a week down there after turkey hunting and leave them or pull them off the green fields. They are a nuisance and destroy everything in site.
