I'd like to try that on some of the big osage logs I've split by hand. Just the ticket for osage staves. I would like to try it on green stumps cut off at ground level.

Someone at the Stone's Trace gun club had one. It was more like a chunk of barrel. They made it from an old truck axle They bored it out and drilled a fuse hole. A hole was bored with a brace and bit in a log and the charged splitter was hammered in. A lot of the splitters were anchored with a strong chain to keep from losing them. They were splitting 4 to 6 foot logs. I noticed the guy in the video was using Pyrodex.
