Watching a Youtube video on Indiana monsters, and it says you guys have ghoul snakes, Loch Ness Monsters, giant man eating snapping turtles named Oscar, gators behind every stump, pig heart eating black panthers, and pukwudgies. What the heck are you people doing out there anyway!?

The DNR drops them in high deer population areas from BLACK OPS HELICOPTERS late at night to help control populations.

There used to be a website with state by state lists of cryptids/paranormal hotspots that was fun to look at.

I thought naming the giant turtle was a nice touch.

Well Oscar is long gone. Probably moved on when the swamp was drained. If you ever pass through 'Busco stop at the McDonalds they have a good photo display of the great Oscar hunt. The results were similar to Al Capone's hidden vault.
Ft Wayne has a couple of battle grounds and is the site of Harmer's defeat by a confederacy or Miami, Shawnee, Potowatimies and several Indian tribes. On the way to Busco if you come up Hwy 33 you will pass the site of Hardin's defeat on the banks of the Eel River. I think Little Turtle was something 6 or 8 and 0 against the whites.

What the heck are you people doing out there anyway!? As far as the panther thing is concerned, my grandpa's best friends son (Jay County) swears he saw a black panther while hunting from his tree stand 20 years ago. He wasn't a man known to joke or lie. It apparently scared him so bad he didn't come down until almost dark. I remember him telling the story shortly after it happened, he seemed shaken by it.

Was he hunting in a tree stand near Chicago?

Well span870 had his hair dresser's uncle's neighbor tell him the DNR used parachutes for rattlers that were disguised as Walmart bags. They used them suckers to plant poisonous snakes all over the hills of South and Central IN. He was sure of it because that neighbor was uncle of a dnr laborer assigned to police up the bags.

All I'm saying is my neighbor raises rabbit and says it's true so I tend to believe her

Don't believe those silly rumors. Still, it reminds me of fast-roping into Big Oaks years ago with a sack full of rattlesnakes to help control the turkey population. Those were the days.

Add bigfoots and attack rattlers to the mix. Sounds like the woods are almost as safe as the east side of Chicago. Is this what you use for an ATV?

No. Those are too big and leave too big of a footprint. They are too hard to transport to the hunting property too. These are much more common and easier to transport.

Nice. A now retired ICO for the area was checking fisherman one night and came upon a couple of gentlemen that may had killed more beers than caught fish. When he stepped out of the brush to talk to them, one of the gentlemen was startled enough to fall out of his chair and was screaming "the Crosley Monster is gonna get us"! Bill spent the rest of his career as the Crosley Monster.
