I didn’t get a survey this year. Is it only being sent to license purchasers. I’m a landowner but I didn’t kill any this year.

Come on now. Do you really think that has any sorta chance at all? That's just plain ol nonsense 🤠🤠🤠 Come on now. Let's go for a third buck on December 1st. But most importantly shorten the archery season. Start taken from it for once. Again. Something that's never ever going to make any sorta voter list. Yer just trying to stir the POT there chief. Good luck!!!

I cannot believe they are proposing a lifetime license again. And they must have been sending different amounts to different survey recipients. Mine was $9000 for the comprehensive--that I remember... I think five for deer? A price that only the well off could afford, and the poor most certainly could not. BOO
And the shortening the gun season question.... I do not believe for a second that the average workaday hunter that might be lucky to get five days in over two weeks wants the season shortened. Another trophy management idea imo.
Also, either I was having a stroke or they were asking some questions twice.

I'm about to head to Oklahoma for some hog hunting, and was looking at their license prices. They sell a lifetime hunt/fish license for $775. That doesn't include species specific tags like deer and turkey though - looks like the equivalent to our general hunt/fish annual license.

With our $32 cost here that’d be a little over 24 years, barring any increases. Probably a decent deal if we had something like that. Easily a good deal for my kids. Be interesting to see prices if they do come come out with these lifetime options.

My coworker always talking about getting a chance to buy his ltl if ever given a chance. He about cried when the dollar figure was so expensive it was prohibitive. I told him the state was fishing for upper end interest.
We started talking about why the state wouldn't raffle off say 100 ltl for $100 per chance. Sure this has been thought of. Maybe the state is prohibited from offering a raffle. Maybe a lotto like a big game tag. Or they could do a $5 entry fee, nonrefundable, then offer the lifetime to a handful of winners each year at like 20x annual cost of the tags.

Lifetime needs to at minimum be more expensive than forty years of hunting time frame. Seems the majority of hunting occurs in someone’s life for around that time frame if not less. Quick calculation puts it north of $4,000 really fast to be worth it.
Now a thought could be offer a post 50 year old lifetime that maybe has a cost of similar to fifteen or so years

I’m 31. The comprehensive sportsmen’s bundle they asked me about was $10,003. Are you kidding me!?!?

I didn’t get a survey this year. Is it only being sent to license purchasers. I’m a landowner but I didn’t kill any this year. Yeah that is excessive. They should use same formula as they did back in the day. 20x the cost of annual license. They will immediately get extra funds. To the hunters it also has to make financial sense. 40 yrs is a long time to pay for tags. In reality I don't care as it won't impact me but I think it should be reasonable. 20x a bundle plus a turkey tag feels reasonable. The population that buy one of these tags will balance out. Sure, a few will live and hunt well past the return on investment but some will die, move, quit etc before that point too. The state used the old ltl funds to buy goose pond. That was a huge success so I would think it is a win win to bring them back. My guess is they announce a significant license fee increase and makes the increase cost of the ltl more appealing.

They should offer a different ones with a bigger discount for longer terms
Like a 5 10 20 year I’m getting a bit older to buy a lifetime but if I was 30 I’d have a different outlook if I could afford it and that’s a issue with people that age most have kids and payments be it car home school probably all three
But a 5 or 10 I’d consider I just bought a 3 year fishing tag for Canada

My suggestion..
Let the DNR issue maybe 100 LTLs. Raffle them off at $10 an entry. Everyone would have shot at them then.
