Woody is correct. That's their mating dance.

Saw this today about 1 mile from home. The pond owners usually have 6 to 10 domestic geese. Saw feathers all over and this guy on the edge eating a goose.

Looks like it’s best not to go boating with them either.

That's the first time I've seen a boat used as fish habitat.

That's the first time I've seen a boat used as fish habitat. It is a 1/4 acre pond too. My guess is they had some brews and had a fun idea. Boat remains in pond as reminder to stay sober. Been there for 4 yrs or so...Best to never know why

I think I saw an immature Bald Eagle just South of Bass Lake today on Toto Road. BIG bird, flying directly away from me, at first I thought it was a turkey vulture, but it wasn't the right color and it was bigger. All brown, no white head/tail like an immature one.

Good post scrub! I got another to add to the thread. This was near Flora, not far from Adam's Mill and the Wildcat Creek. I was meeting with a landowner, negotiating a possible property acquisition. While surveying the land, I caught these two on a lunch date:

Cool pictures.
How common are eagles in Indiana? Here they are everywhere.

Cool pictures. How common are eagles in Indiana? Here they are everywhere. Before these 6, I've maybe seen 5 or 6 in my lifetime. Usually cruising along the river banks.

There are areas where there are quite a few. Boating on lake Monroe it was rare not to see at least one everyday. Most we saw was six in one day. I see them here around the house every once in a while too. Saw one Tuesday that flew over the car while I was driving.

This in a friends back yard. The Eagle snatched a catfish out of his pond. This is about a half mile from where I hunt in northern Warrick county. The eagle ate mostly the soft under belly and never flew away with it.
