Survivor buck and shot doe

In October I shot a doe from the ground while walking to my stand. It was a slightly quartering towards shot. It looked like a good hit.  She ran towards me after the shot and stopped about 15 yards away in the brush.  It surprised me on how normal she was acting after being shot.  She spotted me trying to load the crossbow and took off.  My mom was hunting a nearby stand. She saw the doe walk by her but didn't know I had shot it. She said it was casually walking like nothing was wrong. We tracked it for a long time finding decent blood at first and then going down to the occasional spot here and there on the trail until it finally stopped. We concluded that she was not dead. Now I'm getting pictures of this doe with that mark on her side. That would be the exit wound if it's the same doe. It's not just messed up fur because its there in every picture on multiple days. If that's the doe I shot I have no clue why that wasn't a fatal wound.







I'm also getting pictures of a nice buck that made it through gun season.  I didn't hear of any of the neighbors shooting any deer after these pictures were taken.
