All of that and then getting in his truck and leaving the scene won't help either

He eliminated the threat, that's for sure. This was in Texas. If charged I'd imagine it would be difficult to get a jury to find him guilty. Things are a little different down there.

I hope he has a very good lawyer. The way the robber flopped it looks like he was already dead when the last shots were taken. We will see how this plays out in the next year.

It depends on the jury, if myself and and other like-minded people were on it,a conviction on a "severe" charge would NOT happen.

I haven't seen the entire video as it's been edited on the links posted and as such can't really offer an opinion if the patron was within his legal rights to shoot the robber or not. In the video it appears that the robber is leaving and has his back to the patron who shot him. Again, I haven't seen a complete video of the shooting, but if the patron then shot the robber in the back of the head after the robber was down, the patron may have a big problem. The fact that the patron left the establishment and did not call police immediately isn't going to help his cause IMO either.
Either way, I think many people who carry concealed are going to benefit from seeing what is determined (from a legal standpoint) to be just and what may have strayed from that into a crime (or crimes) committed by the patron in this situation.

What do you think the charges will be? Slap on the wrist for desecration of a dead body might be appropriate along with keys to the city for doing a public service.

The second video in my original post shows it all. The last “pop” was the one to the back of the head. Maybe the guy was still moving? Dunno, but like you, I think that one could be his downfall .
