I guess with my line of work, gross stuff doesn't bother me as much as it does others. Wwt operators are a special breed. Done my share of popping manholes to find plugged sewer lines. That is not as gross as your deer pic.... I'm based at the plant. I've never went down any manholes. We used to pressure cook the sludge at 375 degrees. I've waded through hot steaming sludge for hours trying to drain tanks and do repairs. A green goo filled deer leg isn't bad at all.

We lost 2 guys due to H2S Yes folks shouldn’t climb it to holes until a gas check is done and wearing a monitor. These guys went in a small chamber after a piece of plexiglass and never came out. It was before monitoring was common.

White rats usually the culprits for problems. Mine were employees flushing cotton gloves, coveralls, and anything they could. Never understood the hatred certain employees directed towards their employer. There were several times a person was taking a dump in the showers...mental illness had to be part of the problem there.

Shot a doe that had that same green tapioca pudding stuff in her leg and shoulder, DNR said she was fighting off some type of infection. Smelled horrible. Probably from getting hit by a car I would guess.

I'm in some skull cleaning groups on Facebook and the nasal bot flies seem to be pretty common. I guess it depends on where you live.

I have had them in every skull I cleaned. 1st 1 I saw was a doe I killed about 10 yrs or so ago. It fell out into the snow. I freaked out until I found out what it was.
