Spend the extra and always buy the more expensive and bigger strap IMO

The only problem I see with his methods is that he didn't do multiple runs of each test.

I am a sucker for good testing you tube videos. I watch a real need of a guy Project Farm. He tests all kinds of thing. Name brand to econo versions. He is very detailed.
This test would have been a good one for him.

I had four ladder stands that stayed (two are still there, but not used) in the same trees for a number of years. I'd change the straps on them every year no matter what. The used straps would be used for light duty work around job sites and the truck bed.
Why are said stands still there? Because the areas two of them are in became so grown up with saplings that hunting there is nearly impossible and I'm too darn old and lazy to pack them out. The other two were stolen. Any battery powered grinder with a good cut off wheel will go through a cable in seconds. I've done it myself on locks that I have lost the keys for.

A pair of channel lock pliers & a diagonal cutting pliers will cut through a cable lock in about two minutes. I had to cut through one that someone had jammed a small pick in it & broke it off. I don't use cable locks any more, I use heavy log chains to lock my stands to the trees.
