If I harvested 2 does with an archery/crossbow license can I purchase another license to harvest a buck or am I only entitled to 1 archery license?

Actually let me ask this in a more complicated way. I purchased the bundle and harvested a doe with a crossbow. I checked the doe in a did not count it towards bonus antlerless. So, it counts as a crossbow doe. Now I want to hunt a F&W area that does not allow bonus antlerless deer harvest. So if I harvest a second doe in the F&W area I have to check it in as my second crossbow does. So does that mean I need to purchase another crossbow license to harvest a buck?
I am looking forward to the upcoming law changes to simplify this stuff.

You are only allowed two archery deer You may take 2 does or 1buck and one doe The only way to take more deer during archery season is to take does on bonus County license. I have a life time license so I have always checked my second doe as bonus county that way I still had my regular archery tag for a buck if one came along. Hope that helps

Read the regulations. The Bundle license bag limits are: 1 Buck and 2 antlerless OR 3 antlerless. But in your question you said you bought a crossbow license and then said bundle license. There is a big difference.

You are permitted to buy one firearms License, two archery or crossbow licenses, one muzzleloader license, and 10 deer reduction zone licenses. Each county has a bonus antlerless bag limit ranging from zero to eight. You are permitted to purchase and use the number of bonus antlerless licenses that each county allows. Each license will allow you to harvest one deer (exceptions: youth licenses, deer license bundle, lifetime license).

If you check a second one in as crossbow, then the only option left would be to use the county bonus licenses for any more does you kill, which can’t be on FWAs. Plus you’d be done buck hunting with archery equipment as well.

And if so could you purchase a bundle and an archery license?

While using archery or crossbow licenses or the bundle only 2 deer can be checked in as archery. If you shoot a second antlerless deer on a FWA then it must be checked in as an archery kill and would complete your archery license maximum. Any deer killed with archery equipment on private ground beyond that would have to be antlerless AND checked in using a bonus antlerless license or as counting towards your antlerless County quota under a bundle license.

I don't understand what you're trying to say. If the 4 you put on there means you think you can check 4 deer under archery I can promise you will get a visit from the ICO. You can kill 4 deer with archery equipment, but only 2 can be checked in as archery and the rest has to be checked in as bonus (count towards your county quota) antlerless.

I bet the system wouldn’t let checkin any way but what is said… doubt you could buy 4 archery lic maybe 2 and a bundle!Dont believe that’s the cheapest way either.

I don't know about buying too many licenses but I know it will let you check in too many. At least it did a few years ago. A young man down the road checked in 3 on one archery license the first year he had to buy regular licenses. The local CO came to visit a couple weeks later.

I copied and pasted that from the DNR website. When you buy the deer bundle, it’s 3 deer. Doesn’t matter what weapon, 3 archery, 3 rifle, 3 muzzleloader or one of each. Some folks have said you can only take two during archery with the deer bundle, but there is nothing in any book that says that. The number 4 was because it was the 4th little notch under the chart

It does matter. You still can’t go over the season limit. If you check two does in as archery and then kill a buck with archery that is illegal because your two archery licenses are already gone in that bundle.
