Anyone else apply? I put in for the state draw and the INNG hunt. Didn't get drawn for the state hunt but got drawn for the INNG hunt. I think I'm actually looking forward to this one.

I messed around too long and missed the deadline. Good luck with your hunt!

I'm absolutely going to be that guy. Used to hunt it years ago for bow during the week religiously. Forgot all my spots. And yes, I'm not asking for general areas. Anyone that isn't going to hunt it willing to give me a good spot

Been a good while since I’ve killed a deer in there, but if I could remember the areas I’d tell you exactly. I believe I do have an old map of the areas if you want me to take a pic of it. I will say while living close and driving hundreds of miles through the place for 12 years. There are always deer near where the cabins are on the east side of the place. On maps I found some pretty good spots from the cabin area to the creek. If you really want to go for a drive and walk the far southwest corner near cordry/sweetwater lakes area holds good deer as well.

I drew the last weekend of firearms. It will be my first time hunting out there.

Go to the 1st area. Find the hill with 4 persimmon trees on it. Climb into the red mulberry tree. Proven spot.

I need some help confirming my thinking on license strategy. In an ideal year, I'll harvest a buck in IN on public or private land in archery, firearms, or muzzleloader seasons. I'm hunting the firearms hunt at Atterbury, so I bought 1 military hunt tag, as that allows me to use the military tag if I harvest a buck at Atterbury.
Given that I already have the deer bundle and a bonus antlerless, I don't think there's any point buying a second military tag. If I get a chance to take a doe there, I will be able to use either the bundle or the bonus antlerless for that deer, and save the military tag for a buck, right?

That is the way I understand it. You can use regular state tags or military refuge tags or combo of both.

Has anyone hunted the open draw hunt before because I have questions. Reading through the regs "On the first day of the hunt you can not arrive before 8. Must leave by 4 and a zone leader will be assigned to each zone to coordinate your hunt" Does that indicate we are going to be assigned where to hunt or how does that work?
