Once they get this going there will be other properties following. I have never applied for a Refuge hunt but I do hunt the upper Wabash Reservoirs. Now for my cartridge guns this does not present a problem but for my muzzle loaders it does. All I shoot in my guns is round ball. Both of my shotguns are Damascus barreled original muzzle loading and steel shot is not real friendly to old barrels. Shotguns I will go to Bismuth I will just have to spend some patterning to see how it works out. The rifles is where it will present the problem. I do not know of any non-lead round balls except for ball bearings. The funny thing is the round balls I have recovered from deer have lost less than 10 grains. This will affect those heading west too. sportsmensalliance.org/news/biden-administration-moves-to-ban-lead-ammunition/?fbclid=IwAR1pcSHuY3C3pJ-DoFjRlikmoM0uGrOwZ0AbTOs0g2lRdeHv7PwllSkRDDU

We talked about this on this site years ago if I recollect proper. The obvious way to hurt firearms and hunting is by banning lead ammunition. I fear this will only get worse.

I don't even know where to buy non lead ammunition to hunt deer with. Barnes bullets are copper. That's what I shoot out of my muzzleloader. Solid copper. I used to shoot them out of my 308 but I've since found a more accurate round.

I don't even know where to buy non lead ammunition to hunt deer with. Most large ammo companies now sell loaded ammo with non-lead bullets. I know for sure that Barnes, Hornady, Federal and Winchester sell non-lead loaded ammo. It's somewhat more expensive, but it's out there.

I pulled up this from Midwayusa.com. They sell copper slug ammo for rifled barrels. Just look through the items. www.midwayusa.com/s?searchTerm=shotgun+slugs

For your inlines that is not much of a problem. Does Barnes make copper round balls? I tried casting some balls with wheel weights added and it did not work well. I ended up with blown patches which caused leading. My 2 .54s have .015 deep grooves with a .540 bore. Shoots a .535 or .530 pure lead round ball very well.
I probably just have to build a new Flintlock with a Sabot Barrel.
There are a couple of guys in California working on non-lead round balls. I think it will require a special barrel with .oo5 or so deep grooves.

Can a round ball be put inside of a shotgun wad?

Can a round ball be put inside of a shotgun wad? It is possible. 28 gauge is .550 bore size so it may work. It would just be a Sabot then. They do or did make .54 Sabot rounds. I could try that with trimmed petals for round ball. I have a 1-72 twist in both my .54s so I am sure anything longer than bore size is not going to stablize.

I may have Hornady sabots/bullets for .54 caliber.
