Recently I bought an old bass boat and it came with a few leftover things. One was a 16' Shakespeare extendable pole. Seems to be made out of fiberglass. It has one eyelet on the end of the pole.
Is there some kid of reel that attaches to it - maybe with rubber bands? Or do you just tie some line on the end of it? I forgot to get a pic of it and can't find one on Google.

Sounds like what I refer to as a cane pole. Never seen a reel on one.

I recently bought the same exact deal at Bass Pro. As said, I'm treating it as if its a cane pole and just tie line to the eyelet.
They do also have one that takes a reel, but I thought it would be fun for bluegills and such to fish old school.

Those were the first pole that replaced the original cane pole. They came out shortly befor the zebco 202 hit the shelves. Caught meny a fish on them. Dad ran black nylon line thru the eyelet then slow spiral about 2,3 foot down pole then tied it off. My grand dad got a 28 in Northern on one one time

My grandmother had a cane pole that I believe was 4 sections and they all dropped inside of the last one I believe it was at least 15 foot long when it was all the way out I believe it also was fiberglass or something along that line
