Uggghhhh. Nothing worse. Phone stopped taking a charge. Tried total of 7 different cords and charger combos, and all work with wifes phone, not mine. Did all we could, even a factory reset, and best we can come up with is showing a "firmware" issue. I got 3 years out of this phone, and 7 years out of the last one, so I guess it's hard to complain. Got to give them credit with being frozen, hot, sweated on, dropped, etc. Oh well. Time to pay the piper again. Gggrrrrrrr. Samsung Galaxy J7 V

Try compressed air in charging port or look for an object lodged in there. Check with flashlight. Smallest things will not allow it to charge.

If you have ever used a cheap off brand charger cord it can short out the port!
Yes a alcohol wipe and a tooth pic can clean the port also!

Wife cleaned it with a small brush last night.
It looks clean as a whistle.
But, I am glad I posted this. I took the advice and blew it out anyway, and I'll be danged but IT WORKS AGAIN!
We have never had the problem, nor have we heard of it. So, thanks to all you guys for the help. Very much appreciated!!!

Glad you got it running. If the problem returns you may try wireless charging. My work phone recently stopped taking a charge. My wife suggested I try wireless charging and it worked right away. Have to take the phone out of the case everytime but beats getting a new phone.

I will take a plug in charger with me when I am on a trip.

I dont know if ours are capable of that? Bought Feb 2019 Samsung. The J7 V does not support wireless charging. Thanks... it's the entry level, basic "vanilla" phone. It still does everything we could ever need, and have been completely satisfied. The battery life is quite good. No problem getting 2 days out of it, depending on usage of course.

That's my only gripe with the smart phones and running background apps for email, weather, family location services, ...
I don't have much battery left at the end of the day if I don't give it a little charge boost sometime in the early afternoon.
Mine is a Samsung s8 that I bought "new old stock" for about $260 and put it on Straight Talk.

We hear it advertised, but don't know anybody personally with it. Do they have unlimited data, separate line for a tablet, same coverage as say Verizon, price breakdown? We went totally wireless now, ditched the home phone and landline internet and wifi. We use Verizon and have since phones were cool. Our bill is $158/mo, $70 per phone and $10 for the tablet line. Thanks for any info.

Thanks for any info. Really can't help you out too much. We have 3 lines @ $45 + taxes (about $48 each total). It is unlimited talk, text, and internet with 5GB hotspot. First 25GB a month are high speed and then you are throttled back to ancient-times speed. It used to be only 5GB a month, but increased in a couple jumps with no change in monthly fee. I have yet to get the hotspot on my phone to work, but I've never really looked into it as I have no need for it. Also our phones are on GSM network (ATT) instead of Verizon. Verizon used to be king of coverage in our area for quite a while, but a few (5 or so) years ago signal started to suck. We switched to GSM Samsungs and get much better coverage here. Our tablets, computer, laptop, and TVs are run on our fiber connection wifi for $100 a month.

My battery (Samsung S20) used to last 2 days, now it's not making it a whole day. Phone will be 2 years old in November.
Might see about putting a new battery in it. PITA though.
