The Flyin Hawaiian was one of the most brave drivers at the Speedway. He raced a little of everything through out his life. I was at the Speedway when he survived a unserviviable crash. A years worth of rehab and he was back. Godspeed Danny.

Growing up his name was synonymous with the Indy 500. R.I.P

Unfortunately that group of Speedway heroes are starting to take there final checkered flag. Danny, Bobby and Al. All gone in a short period. I would never take anything away from the drivers of today. But that group was just a special breed. It was also a special time for the Speedway. Things was just different. Maybe I am just getting old. My wife tells me at the drivers meeting that I am no longer in the middle class. But one of the old guys left in sprint car racing. Time doesn't stop.
