Every home in the U.S. is eligible to order 4 free at-home COVID-19 tests. The tests are completely free. Orders will usually ship in 7-12 days www.covidtests.gov/

I did find this interesting: “Your health insurance company will pay you back for 8 at-home tests per month for each person on the plan.“

Funny that nobody is saying what the % of error on these tests are.

Funny that nobody is saying what the % of error on these tests are. I just heard a segment on the morning news. Apparently the directions state that if one tests negative, but still have symptoms, they should quarantine as if the test was positive. What's the point of testing? I guess I missed the boat on what I will call the testing obsession. My SIL, a Chicago liberal, runs all over town trying to buy test kits. She wanted our family to test before she came here for Christmas. My wife politely told her no and she was welcome to stay at home if she didn't like it. By the way, she is vaccinated, boosted, healthy, non-smoker, etc.

If you are positive they don't give you any different treatment unless you have other complications or compromised immune system already. My daughter had to be tested same time frame. She was positive but off quarantine by the time she had results...made no since.

I figured I'd let the people who actually need one go get them. The clinic that does the rapid test is only 15 minutes away if I need one.

I think the wife ordered some. We have used 4 sets of at home tests, the ones we had were 2 tests per package. I don't think the at home tests are that accurate to say you DON'T have covid but I do think thay are a pretty handy way to tell if you do have covid. For example if you have symptoms and take a home test and it comes back negative i probably wouldn't trust it 100% but if it said you were positive I would probably put more trust in that. Agree or disagree that's where I'm at with it.

My wife and I have gotten tested at the local Mercy Urgent Care in Newburgh. This was quite sometime ago and we were in and out in less than a half hour with negative results. We passed there a little bit ago and the sign out front said “99 minute wait”. Bunch of cars in the lot too. We had gotten our flu shots there too and it was pretty quick. I guess with this recent surge things are backing up. A friend of mine was scheduled fior surgery on the 31st and she had been put off until February 15th.
