I hunted this buck harder than I have ever hunted a deer. I was out every day, a lot of them morning and evening. This is the first picture I got of him when he was in velvet. This was the next picture I got! needless to say I was pumped after this. I got no more pictures of him until November 10th. I got a few pictures the next cou[ple days. Then on the 18th I got busy with a few jobs around the house and didn't get out until 3:30. Well a neighbor that hunts to the south of me sends me a text that he jumped him and watched him run right under my stand. Missed him by a half hour! The next morning I got in my stand at 6:45 and had an uneventful sit. Got down and checked a camera by the stand and there he was at 6:40. The big critter had to be standing there and watch me come in. After that he disappered for a month, I was afraid someone else got him. I got a picture of him on December 17 which I was thrilled to see. The next evening at fifteen minutes before end of shooting time he came out of the woods with four does and started feeding away from me. I got out of the stand stayed in the woods, closed the distance to about 80 yards, and slipped out to the edge. A doe was in the field but the rest of them went back in the woods. They never came back out to join the doe. When I snuck out she was still feeding quitely. As they say "he didn't get that big by being stupid". This is the last and best picture I got of him, i'm surprised he isn't sticking his tongue out. I did see him with 9 does on the December 28th. It was 5:45 in the evening , he was 500 yards away, and when I stopped the truck on the road he immediatly spooked back in the woods. The does didn't even raise there heads. I just pray he makes it til next year!

One of these days you will be in the right place at the right time and all the missed opportunities will be forgotten.
Well almost!

He should be pushing 190" next season if not more. Looks like 170 or better in pics

He needed another year anyway. Haha. No doubt. Hope you get a chance at him next year. He’s a bruiser for sure, can’t wait to see what he looks like next year.

Good luck with that brute next season. I had one I was hoping to get eyes on this season, but I never did. Got cam pics of him all throughout, but every one was at night. Hoping he shows up again next year.

Put a camera out and bait with shelled corn. Can probably get some winter pictures of him.

WOW. I'd make sure I was out with a weapon (when legal) that wherever he was at I could reach out and touch him of I saw him. I.E. a rifle during gun season that would reach to the edge of the property from wherever I was, and about the same for a muzzleloader during ML season.
