I enjoy deer hunting, but spring turkey hunting is my true obsession. I hunted or called for someone 13 out of 18 days last year and hopefully will get to do the same this year.
In order to extend my favorite season, I will also be traveling to Michigan to chase longbeards this year. Anyone else going out of state this year?

I go to Michigan and Wisconsin every year. And you SLAY them too! No kidding! As much as I love deer hunting, I think turkeys are becoming my favorite. No bigger rush than an ole gobbler firing off and coming in. I would love to go to MI, as it's only 7 miles north of me, but I havent pursued any spots and it would have to be pretty good to pay for an out of state tag.

I hear ya Jay. I have a group of friends that go to Kansas and Nebraska each year and I would love to tag along. Just have been fortunate enough to do so. Daphne's health isn't the greatest so I don't know if I'd really like be that far away from her anyhow. But, it's still fun to think about!

Wife has kin folk in eastern KY and western WV that we visit regularly. I never seriously considered hunting, but do know they kill turkeys every year. May have to start thinking about it now!

Looks like Kansas is out for us this yr. The Unit we hunt is still under a one bird limit, they even added a couple more units to a one bird limit.

Near green river lake. Public land. Where I hunted though you needed a lifted 4x4 truck for access. Very few people could traverse the creek like I could. My Ford F-250 lifted 4” and 37’s still occasionally had water come over the hood slightly.

We went to LBL last year during normal season after the quota hunts were over and got really close to a few. They were still very vocal and it comes in 11 days before ours this year. No draw needed

Was going to start a new thread, but just decided to put this here. Was looking at a place in Missouri that does self guided turkey hunts for a decent price. Then went to check out their regulations and found an atlatl is actually legal for turkeys there. I couldn’t believe that.

Used to be the meca for turkey hunting. Their population is in a massive decline. Private property I'd take a chance of but wouldn't not make the drive for a public land hunt. This place you found, how reasonable are we talking and how much land vs amount of hunters taken?
